What is Rooted Aesthetics & Wellness?
Rooted Aesthetics & Wellness is a medical aesthetics practice at 426 3rd St., Brookings, SD 57006, inside the House of Pampering and Hand Tied Boutique building. Google lists it as a medical spa and shows a rating of 5 from 12 reviews. It offers four services: injectables, medical weight management, medical grade skin care and peptide therapy. Alejandra Schreur is the founder and medical director, and the only prescriber the clinic names.
The weight loss program is built around a prescription for either an injectable GLP-1 or an oral medication, and the clinic delivers the medication and supplies to your door. It does not name the GLP-1 drug it uses. The peptide menu lists sermorelin, CJC1295 with ipamorelin, PT-141 (also called bremelanotide) and BPC 157. In its own words: "Our program begins with an in person or virtual consultation with a medical provider for an initial evaluation and creation of a weight loss or peptide therapy plan." It is open by appointment only, and you can reach it at (605)-808-0825.
What does it cost?
The initial consultation is free, because the clinic does not charge for consultations with its medical providers. It does not publish weight loss or peptide prices. It sells medication by the vial depending on dosage, which lets patients join with no long-term commitment, but it does not say whether medication is included in a price. Injectable prices are published: Botox and Xeomin are $12 per unit, a lip flip is $100, and dermal filler is $600 for lips and $700 for the chin or cheeks. Facial balancing starts at $1350. It accepts Alle and the Xperience+ Rewards Program. It does not say whether it accepts insurance.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask who writes the prescription and whether follow-up visits with that provider are in person or virtual. Ask whether the monthly cost of weight loss medication includes the drug itself, and what one month would run at your dose, since the medication is sold by the vial. Ask which GLP-1 is used, whether it is a brand name drug or a compounded version, and which pharmacy fills it. Ask whether each peptide is a brand name drug or compounded. Ask what lab work and follow-up visits cost, whether insurance is accepted for any of them, and how you stop treatment, including whether ending it carries a fee.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want a named medical provider to direct weight loss medication or peptide therapy, you are comfortable starting with a virtual visit, and you can get a full price in writing before you pay. It is also worth calling if you want injectable skin treatments from the same clinic as your weight care.
