What is KSD Aesthetics?
KSD Aesthetics is a medical spa at 1712 Eagan Road in Madison, Wisconsin. Most of what it does is aesthetic work: neurotoxin and dermal filler injections, Sculptra, facials and skincare, microneedling, PRP, and laser treatments including hair removal, IPL photofacials and laser resurfacing. Medical weight loss is one of its Wellness services, alongside IV hydration therapy and vitamin shots, which are listed as coming soon.
The weight loss program uses GLP-1 medications, which are described as prescription treatments. It does not name a brand. The wellness director is Bailey, DNP, APNP, FNP-C, and the first visit is with that person to go over health history, weight loss challenges and goals. The clinic does not say whether Bailey writes the GLP-1 prescriptions. It also does not say how long it has been open.
After the first visit, the plan may include GLP-1 medications, nutrition guidance, lifestyle advice and ongoing coaching. It checks in regularly and adjusts the medication or strategy as needed. It does not describe how those check-ins are scheduled or billed.
What does it cost?
The clinic does not publish prices for medical weight loss, and it does not say whether medication is included in any price. No consultation fee is listed. On insurance, in its own words: "Coverage depends on your plan. We’ll review costs and payment options with you during your consultation."
The only prices the clinic gives are for memberships. "Basically KSD" is $100 a month, banked toward future treatments or retail skincare, with 10% off in-clinic services and retail skincare. "KSD Collective" is $175 a month, with 15% off and a free birthday gift. The same memberships page also gives $50 and $200 figures for these tiers, so the monthly amounts conflict. The memberships are described around skincare and in-clinic services, and nothing there mentions weight loss. Both a cancellation policy and a return policy are listed. Read both before you pay.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask who writes the GLP-1 prescription, and whether Bailey is that prescriber. Ask whether the monthly program fee includes the medication, and if not, what the medication costs on top. Ask whether the GLP-1 medication is brand-name or compounded, and which pharmacy fills it. Ask what the consultation, follow-up visits and any lab work cost. Ask whether the first visit can be done by telehealth, since the clinic does not say. Ask whether a membership can go toward weight loss care, and which of the two monthly amounts is correct. Ask how cancellation works before you pay anything. Finally, ask your insurer whether any part of GLP-1 treatment for weight loss is covered, since the clinic only says coverage depends on your plan. The clinic's number is (608)-961-8536.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want a medical spa that also runs a medical weight loss program with a named wellness director, and you are willing to get the prescribing, medication and membership questions answered in writing before you pay. If weight loss is the main reason you are looking, ask how much of the practice is built around it before you book.
