About Alpha Health & Wellness
What is Alpha Health & Wellness?
Alpha Health & Wellness is a men's health clinic at 703-B 22nd Street in Point Pleasant, WV 25550. Colbe Ingels, FNP-BC, is the owner and the nurse practitioner who prescribes. He has over 12 years of experience in health care.
Its main service is testosterone replacement therapy for men with low testosterone. It also offers weight loss, peptide therapy, erectile dysfunction and decreased libido care, fatigue care, fertility concerns, IV infusions, intramuscular injections, and health, nutrition and fitness coaching. Testosterone is the only medication it names.
Care starts with a consultation, a physical exam and a lab panel, followed by a visit to go over the labs and set a plan. Prescriptions are ordered through a pharmacy and mailed to your home, or given at the clinic. In its own words: "Everything is handled at our one location." It is closed Sunday through Friday and open Saturday by appointment from 8 AM to 5 PM. It has a Google rating of 5 from 6 reviews. It does not say whether telehealth is offered.
What does it cost?
It does not publish treatment prices. The initial consultation is $200, and if you go ahead with treatment, that fee comes off your first month's cost. Monthly membership pricing depends on the services you choose, and a la carte items are priced separately.
It does not take insurance. Everything is cash pay, with no co-pays. The monthly membership includes visits with the provider, labs as often as the plan needs, medications, and the supplies to give them. Services are paid at the time of service, and a late or missed appointment carries a $50 fee. Cancelling carries no fee, but an outstanding balance or unpaid payments are still owed. Refunds are not given for services or products. It does not mention HSA or financing.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask whether the monthly figure for your service includes the medication, since no figure is published. Ask whether the testosterone is brand name or compounded, and which pharmacy fills it. Ask how often labs are drawn and whether follow-up labs are billed separately. An appointment does not guarantee a testosterone prescription, which is up to the provider, so ask what decides it at the first visit.
Ask how billing works, since services are paid at the time of service while memberships are monthly. Ask which weight loss medications would be used, since none are named. Ask whether any part of care happens by phone or video. Because Colbe Ingels, FNP-BC, and the clinic are not your primary care provider unless arranged beforehand, ask how your regular doctor should be kept informed.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you are a man looking for testosterone or hormone care, you can pay cash each month, and you want visits, labs and prescriptions handled in one Point Pleasant office. If you need insurance billing or want the medications named up front, ask the questions above before you book.
