What is Appalachian Hydration & Wellness?
Appalachian Hydration & Wellness is a locally owned, nurse practitioner-led medical wellness and aesthetics practice in Lewisburg, WV, across from the WV State Fairgrounds. Stephanie Holliday, FNP-BC, owns the practice and prescribes.
The medical side includes medically supervised weight loss, by injection or by pill. The injectable program uses GLP-1 treatment. The oral program names Wegovy pills, phentermine and Bella Capsules, which are compounded. Hormone wellness covers women in perimenopause and menopause and men with low testosterone, with hormone replacement offered when appropriate. IV hydration, vitamin injections and acute care visits round out the medical menu, alongside a long list of aesthetic treatments. It offers in-person and telehealth visits and has a 5-star Google rating from 11 reviews.
What does it cost?
The injectable program lists a starting price of $155 for a month supply and a second injectable price starting at $190 for a month supply. Oral weight loss adds a $40 office fee for oral medication. Acute visits are $50, Rapid COVID-FLU A/B testing is $30, and Strep A testing is $30. In its own words: "Medication cost is determined by the pharmacy and may vary based on insurance coverage and savings eligibility."
It does not say whether the monthly prices include medication. It does not publish a consultation fee or any hormone therapy prices. It is cash pay only. Its website has a payment plans page, but the page gives no terms.
What should you ask before you book?
Only Stephanie Holliday, FNP-BC, is named as a prescriber, so ask who signs each prescription and who you would see for follow-up. Ask whether the monthly price includes the medication, since the pharmacy sets the medication cost. Ask where the compounded Bella Capsules are made and how the ingredients are sourced, because it does not explain this. Ask what follow-up visits and lab work cost, since hormone care involves regular monitoring and no prices are published for it. Ask for the consultation fee, the hormone therapy prices and the cancellation terms for any monthly plan. Ask which states telehealth covers, and ask for the street address and office hours, which it does not publish.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want cash-pay weight loss or hormone care with a nurse practitioner in the Greenbrier Valley, and you are ready to get answers on medication, fees and cancellation before you book.
