About Bridgeport Wellness Center

What is BWC?

BWC is a direct primary care practice. Patients pay a monthly membership instead of billing insurance for everyday care. The membership covers unlimited visits for chronic conditions and sick visits, plus free calls, texts and emails with the provider between appointments. It has over 10 years of local health care experience behind it.

Besides primary care, it offers anti-aging, weight loss, TRT, HRT, mental health support, pain management, ADHD and depression treatment, and in-home care. Its weight management program lists GLP1 and peptide therapy, and its hormone program covers TRT and HRT. The prescribers it names are Zachary Schott, Sharon Senft and Michelle Martin. Telehealth audio and video visits are available in several neighboring states.

In its own words: "Call/text/email provider for free between appointments."

What does it cost?

The membership is $99 a month under the plan name "Integrative & Functional Medicine Primary Care." Additional adult members are $76 each and children are $55 each. There is no commitment and no sign-up fee. The clinic also accepts cash pay, FSA and HSA cards, and Medicare Part B.

The weight management program is listed at $99 a month and includes primary care benefits. The hormone page lists $89 a month for provider appointments and $20 to $50 a month for medication, with lab testing at $40 to $50, 3-4x a year. Yearly labs (CBC, CMP and lipid panel) are free under the membership, and it says its most common lab tests are less than $10 each. The flu visit charges a $50 rebooking fee for late cancellations, and the medication is billed separately from the visit fee.

It does not publish a consultation fee. Office hours belong to each office, so ask the one you would visit.

What should you ask before you book?

Ask whether the $99 weight management price includes the medication. It does not say, and it does not name a GLP-1 drug. Ask which drug would be prescribed and whether it is brand-name or compounded.

For hormone care, ask whether the $20 to $50 medication price is the full cost of the drug, and who signs the prescription. Ask whether Medicare Part B covers weight or hormone visits, since it only states that Part B is accepted. Ask what follow-up visits and labs cost beyond the free yearly labs. Ask which office your visits would be at and what its hours are.

Who is it a good fit for?

This is a good fit if you want a flat monthly membership with direct access to a named prescriber, and you are comfortable asking about medication and lab costs before you book.
