What is Doc Fox?
Doc Fox is a family medicine practice with offices in Auburn and Federal Way, Washington. Its primary care and urgent care serve residents of towns across the Puget Sound area, including Tacoma, Puyallup, Kent, Gig Harbor and Seattle. It also provides telehealth for conditions where that fits. The prescriber named for the practice is L. Scott Fox, DO. The homepage introduction is signed Dr. Laurence Fox, who says he is board certified in family medicine, so ask which doctor will be yours.
Most of the practice's pages are about hormone therapy, so the clearest description is a family practice with a large hormone program. It lists testosterone pellets and testosterone therapy, a weight loss program that combines counseling and medication, Suboxone treatment, motor vehicle and work injury care, Botox spa services, SoftWave shock wave and infrared treatments, and adult ADD coaching. The one medication it names is testosterone cypionate. The practice says it has managed testosterone levels in men since 2007. Google shows it at 4.1 from 31 reviews.
What does it cost?
It does not publish prices. There are no figures for consultations, pellets, testosterone therapy, weight loss or primary care, and it does not say whether medication is included in any fee. It says it accepts most private insurance plans but does not name them. For cash patients, its own words are: "We have reasonable fees, not budget breaking." That gives you nothing to plan a budget around. Membership terms are clearer. The practice says there are no long-term contracts, and urgent care does not require a membership, though direct primary care memberships are limited. Ask for a written fee list before you book.
What should you ask before you book?
Start with the prescriber. The practice names L. Scott Fox, DO, while the homepage introduction is signed Dr. Laurence Fox, so ask which doctor writes and manages your prescriptions and what that doctor's credentials are. For hormone and weight loss care, ask whether the program or monthly fee includes the medication, and whether testosterone or any other drug is brand name or compounded. Ask how often pellets are placed, what the lab monitoring schedule costs, including labs and follow-up visits, and whether there is a consultation fee and what it covers.
The clinic names no weight loss medication, so ask which ones it uses and what they cost. Its weight loss material also recommends a long list of nutritional supplements, so ask whether they are required and what they run. If you already get hormone therapy somewhere else, ask what records they need before you can be seen. Ask which insurance plans are accepted and whether pellet therapy is covered. Who is it a good fit for?
