What is Cosmetic Surgery Center?
Cosmetic Surgery Center is mainly a cosmetic surgery and med spa practice at 328 Louisa Ave #110 in Virginia Beach, VA 23454. Most of its work is plastic surgery and aesthetic treatment, such as facelifts, tummy tucks, BOTOX® Cosmetic and CoolSculpting® Elite. Two of its services bring many readers here: GLP-1 weight loss using semaglutide, and hormone therapy.
JoAnne Lopes, MD, FACS, is a board-certified plastic surgeon and is named as supervising the semaglutide program. Ben Hugo, MD, is the other physician listed. Hormone therapy is offered to men and women, and the practice says it is a certified Pro-Pell Therapy Program provider offering hormone pellets. It is open Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Friday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The phone number is (757) 497-5400.
What does it cost?
Semaglutide is priced in tiers. Tier 1 starts at $199. Tier 2 runs from $199 to $399. Tier 3 has no stated price, and the practice says it is priced by the concentration prescribed. It does not say whether these figures are per visit, per dose or per month, or whether they include the medication. In its own words: "We customize your injection schedule, dosage, and follow-up support based on your medical history, goals, and progress."
The Cosmetic Collective membership asks for a $149 monthly deposit into what it calls a personal beauty bank, with savings on treatments such as BOTOX® Cosmetic at $13 per unit, minimum 20 units. It does not say how cancellation works. It publishes no consultation fee and no price for hormone therapy. It names four financing partners, Allē, CareCredit, Alphaeon Credit and Cherry, and says some plans start at 0% interest. It does not say it accepts insurance.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask who writes the semaglutide prescription and who sees you at follow-up visits. Only Dr. Lopes is named as supervising the weight loss program. Denise Kail, RN, and Kara Holt, RN, BSN, are on the team, but neither is listed as a prescriber. Ask whether the tier price covers the medication and how it is billed. Ask whether the semaglutide is brand-name or compounded, since the practice does not say. Hormone therapy includes follow-up visits every few weeks and repeat labs, so ask the total cost of those. Ask the consultation fee and whether it counts toward treatment. Ask how membership is canceled and whether there is a set commitment. Finally, ask whether telehealth is offered and whether insurance is billed at all.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want cosmetic procedures and medical weight loss or hormone care under one roof in Virginia Beach, and you can pay out of pocket or finance the cost. If you need insurance billing or care by video, ask before you book, since the practice does not say it offers either.
