What is Healthy Aging?
Healthy Aging is a physician-run practice at 107 North Brunswick Avenue in South Hill, Virginia 23970. Its main services are hormone therapy, medication-based weight loss, and cosmetic injections. It is listed on Google as a Medical Center with a rating of 5 from 9 reviews.
The only prescriber named is Dr. Mark A. Powell. He earned his Medical Degree from the University of Pittsburgh, completed an anesthesia residency there, and worked in anesthesia at Community Memorial Health Center in South Hill for almost 10 years. He has provided wellness services in South Hill since 2018.
The weight loss program is medically supervised, with three medication options: Semaglutide, Tirzepatide, and B12-MIC. Hormone services include bio-identical hormone replacement therapy for women and men. The clinic also offers Botox and dermal fillers. The office lists Monday and Thursday hours from 08:00 am to 06:00 pm, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday by appointment, and closed Saturday and Sunday. The phone number is 434-256-1444.
What does it cost?
It does not publish prices. The clinic does not say whether medication is part of any fee, whether it accepts insurance, whether there is a membership, or what happens if you cancel. Ask about each of these before you book.
The clinic offers a consultation. In its own words: "We look forward to meeting with you for a personal consult designed to meet your needs for a healthy aging process." No consultation fee is listed.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask who writes the prescription for each medication and who gives the injections. Only Dr. Powell is named as a prescriber, so ask whether he signs every prescription and whether anyone else administers Botox or fillers. Ask whether the weight loss price includes the medication, and whether each of the three options is brand-name or compounded.
B12-MIC needs its own question. The clinic spells it out as Methionine, Inositol, Choline, but does not say what it is used for or whether it is a weight loss treatment. Ask what it is, why it is offered, and whether it adds to the cost.
For hormone therapy, the clinic describes the treatment as plant derived and says the pellets are made from wild yam. Ask what the pellets contain, whether they are compounded, what lab work is needed, and what follow-up visits and labs cost. Finally, ask how to cancel, and whether any part of the care is available by telehealth, which the clinic does not mention.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you live within reach of South Hill, can book a weekday visit, and want a physician-run office for hormone therapy, medication-based weight loss, or Botox and fillers. Get the prescriber, price, and cancellation answers in writing before you commit.
