What is WellcomeMD?
WellcomeMD is a concierge primary care practice at 2500 Gaskins Road, Suite A, in Richmond, Virginia. It serves Richmond and Central Virginia, and it names Henrico County as well. Its services are concierge primary care, annual and executive physicals, advanced lab testing, health coaching, a weight loss program, bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT), and hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Weight loss and hormones are two services within a primary care practice, not the whole practice.
The clinic names five prescribers: Dr. Tasha Dickerson, Dr. Betsy Miller, Dr. Karen Galichon, Dr. Richard Peebles Jr., and Dr. Paa-Kofi Obeng. It does not list credentials beside any of their names. Its weight loss page says the team includes board-certified physicians, but it does not say which doctors those are.
In its own words: "Our physicians carry less than half the patient load of a typical concierge practice." The clinic also describes same-day appointments, and says that after-hours calls go to your own doctor. Google lists it as a wellness center with a 4.8 rating from 99 reviews.
What does it cost?
It does not publish prices. The clinic offers a free consultation, and it asks people to book a free discovery call. New members receive a StrideDNA methylation test at no charge. The clinic does not state a membership fee, its cancellation terms, or whether it accepts insurance. It also does not say whether any medication is included in weight loss or hormone pricing. For context, the clinic's blog says the weight loss drugs it discusses can cost as much as $15,000 a year. That figure describes the drugs in general, not this clinic's fee.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask who writes the prescription for weight loss and for hormones, and whether you will see that same doctor for follow-up. Ask whether the monthly fee includes medication, and which weight loss medication, if any, the clinic prescribes. A patient should also ask whether that use is on-label. For hormones, ask which hormones are used and whether they are compounded or manufactured products.
Ask what follow-up visits and lab work cost and whether they are covered by membership. Ask whether the clinic bills insurance at all, and what a visit costs without it. Finally, ask how cancellation works, whether there is a minimum commitment, and which of the physicians are board-certified.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want primary care with a membership fee, a lower patient load, and direct access to the same doctor, and you are willing to get the price in writing before you book. It may not suit you if you need a published price list or insurance billing, since the clinic states neither.
