What is East Beach Urgent Care?
East Beach Urgent Care is a walk-in urgent care center at 9545 Shore Drive in Norfolk, Virginia, inside the East Beach Shoppes. It sees adults and children without an appointment. It also offers flu shots and vaccinations, X-rays and on-site lab testing, sports and pre-employment physicals, DOT physicals, drug testing, STD testing and treatment, and medication refills. Urgent care is the main business. The weight loss program is a newer service added to it. The program names Ozempic, semaglutide and Zepbound, and walk-in consultations are welcome. The clinic does not say which provider prescribes or runs the program.
What does it cost?
The weight loss program is cash pay. In its own words: "This program is NOT billed to your health insurance carrier." The required consultation costs $99 and takes 30 minutes. After that, the pricing table lists a $99 monthly script fee and a $499 monthly medication cost, paid directly to Eli Lilly. The medication is not included in the monthly fee. The program text also mentions a $99 monthly office fee, so it is unclear whether that is a second charge or the same one.
Refills run on a 90-day cycle. You must be seen in person every 90 days, and the office fee still applies in the months you call or text in for refills.
For urgent care, the clinic lists in-network plans including Cigna, Medicare, Anthem BCBS and United Healthcare. It says it is not in network with Aetna or out of state Medicaid, and it also takes patients without insurance. It does not publish urgent care self-pay rates. A $25 fee applies to forms completed for use outside your medical record, such as day care, employment or family medical leave forms.
What should you ask before you book?
Who is the prescribing provider for the weight loss program, and will that person see you at the consultation? The clinic does not name anyone.
Are the $99 monthly script fee and the $99 monthly office fee the same charge, or two separate ones?
Is the $499 the full monthly amount for the medication, and how does Lilly Direct bill you for it?
Are the 90-day in-office visits, monthly check-ins and any lab work included, or billed separately?
The menu lists Telehealth Services, but the clinic does not say whether the weight loss program can be done remotely.
How do you cancel, and is there a minimum number of months? The clinic does not publish cancellation terms.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you need a walk-in urgent care near Shore Drive and are ready to pay cash for a weight loss program with the medication billed separately and an in-person visit every 90 days. If you need a named prescriber or a clear cancellation policy before you commit, get those answers first.
