About True Wellness
What is True Wellness?
True Wellness is a medical wellness and aesthetics practice with an office in Newport News, Virginia, and another in Glen Allen, near Richmond. It also offers concierge service in the Triangle area of North Carolina. Google lists it as a medical center with a 4.9 rating from 84 reviews.
In its own words: "Where medical wellness meets personalized aesthetics." Most of what it lists is injectable, facial and beauty work. Wellness covers IV therapy, vitamin injections, medical weight management and personalized wellness treatments. Aesthetics covers dermal fillers, neurotoxins and personalized aesthetic treatments. Beauty covers facials, lash extensions, brow services and professional waxing.
Among medical weight loss, hormone therapy, peptide therapy and longevity medicine, medical weight management is the only one it names. It names no weight-loss medication and does not say which provider handles it. The providers it names are Nurse Davis and Nurse Alexis, and it publishes no credentials for either. It operates by appointment only.
This listing is for its Newport News office at 11872 Canon Blvd Ste A.
What does it cost?
It does not publish prices. The one fixed figure is a $30 consultation fee, required when you schedule. It says the fee covers the provider evaluation and is applied toward your treatment total for an eligible service booked within a time frame it does not spell out. The fee is non-refundable.
It accepts major credit and debit cards, Zelle, exact cash and HSA or FSA where applicable, and it offers financing through Affirm and Afterpay. Its Preferred Pricing, which it calls the lowest advertised price, applies when you pay by Zelle or Apple Cash. Standard Pricing applies to cards and other methods. It says the service is the same either way. It does not say whether insurance is accepted or whether medication is included in any fee. It lists no membership or package plans.
What should you ask before you book?
Put these to the front desk before you pay anything. Who prescribes the weight management, and what credentials do Nurse Davis and Nurse Alexis hold? Which medication, if any, is used, and is it brand-name or compounded? Does the program price include the medication? What does the program cost each month, and what do follow-up visits and lab work cost? Which office offers it?
Ask whether the $30 applies to a weight program and by when. Ask how you cancel and whether any money is returned. Ask whether it bills insurance, whether follow-up can be done by video, and how long the practice has been open.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want aesthetic, beauty, IV or vitamin services near Newport News or Richmond and would be glad to have weight management as one add-on. It is a weaker fit if a prescription weight-loss plan is the main reason you are calling, since it names no medication and does not say who prescribes weight care.
