About Renew MD Wellness & Aesthetics

What is Renew MD Wellness & Aesthetics?

Renew MD Wellness & Aesthetics is a physician-led wellness and aesthetics clinic. Much of its menu is aesthetic work such as Botox, fillers, laser and skincare. Its medical services cover GLP-1 weight loss by injection or by pill, hormone therapy including testosterone replacement, and peptide treatments with NAD+, BPC-157, Glutathione and Sermorelin.

It has offices in Farmville and Lynchburg, Virginia. Its prescribers are Venkata Maddukuri, M.D., whom the clinic describes as double board-certified, and Kristen Davis, RN. Google lists it as a weight loss service with a rating of 5 from 4 reviews.

What does it cost?

It does not publish prices for weight loss medication, hormone therapy or the medication itself. Its memberships run $29 a month for Student, $35 for Gold, $79 for Platinum and $150 for Diamond. Most of the perks are aesthetic discounts, though the Diamond tier includes IV hydration for $99 a month. The monthly weight loss membership, which covers physician visits, dose adjustments and lab reviews, has no price listed.

The weight loss page says a cost as low as $100 a month may apply if insurance covers the medication. The sentence is cut off, though, and it does not say what the $100 includes. The clinic names Cherry and CareCredit for payment plans. It does not say whether it bills insurance for visits or accepts HSA or FSA cards. In its own words: "When insurance does not cover, we offer clear and transparent vial pricing so you always know exactly what to expect." No vial prices are published. The only membership term stated is a six-month minimum for EMS Sculpting Plus Neo sessions.

What should you ask before you book?

Ask which practice will bill you and whose name goes on your prescription. The clinic uses both Renew MD and Forest Wellness M.D. as names, and no weight loss prescriber is named specifically. If Kristen Davis, RN would sign for you, ask whether a physician reviews that prescription. Ask whether the monthly fee includes the medication or whether the drug is billed on top. Ask whether it is brand-name or compounded, and which pharmacy supplies it. Ask what the consult, follow-up visits and lab work cost. Ask whether telehealth visits are offered, since the clinic does not say. Ask how a membership is cancelled. The clinic's membership listings also disagree on whether the Gold tier includes 10% off IV hydration, so ask for the current list in writing. Finally, ask which office you would attend and its hours. The clinic does not publish hours, and it gives no Lynchburg address.

Who is it a good fit for?

This is a good fit if you want aesthetic treatments and wellness medicine under one roof and you are ready to pay out of pocket or through financing. It is a harder fit if you need a published price for weight loss medication or a clear insurance answer before you call, because the clinic posts neither.
