What is ReVAya Well?
ReVAya Well is a hormone therapy practice in Charlottesville, Virginia, led by Dr. Susie N. Chung, MD. Dr. Chung is a board certified gynecologist and a BioTE certified practitioner. She started a private OB/GYN practice in Towson, Maryland in 2002, retired from delivering babies in 2020, and retired from specialized gynecologic surgery in 2024. Since then her focus has been hormone care for women in perimenopause and menopause, and the practice also treats men.
Its main service is BioTE hormone optimization, where pellets are placed under the skin in a minor procedure done under local anesthesia that takes about 5 minutes. The hormones it names are testosterone, estrogen, progesterone and thyroid hormones. It also offers thyroid and GLP therapies, supplements, and Performance & Metabolic Testing, which covers RMR, VO2 max and InBody body composition analysis. The practice has a 4.9 rating on Google from 61 reviews. It lists a Baltimore office by phone only, and the Charlottesville line is 434-465-2526.
What does it cost?
ReVAya Well does not publish prices or a consultation fee. It is a cash pay practice, and laboratory services are billed through your health insurance. The one fee stated is $50 for cancellations or rescheduling with less than 24 hours' notice. Before you book, ask for the full cost of a consultation, a pellet insertion, the medication, and follow-up visits. Ask what the bloodwork costs too, since the clinic lists it before the first treatment, 4 to 6 weeks after the first insertion, and then annually.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask who writes the prescription. Dr. Chung is the only prescriber the practice names. Ask whether the pellet is brand name or compounded. Its pellets are made in FDA regulated 503B facilities, so ask what that means for the product you would receive. Ask whether any program price includes the medication.
In its own words: "Your dose is personalized based on your specific labs and symptoms." Ask which labs are used and how often your dose is checked. Ask whether visits can be done by telehealth and what the office hours are, since neither is listed. Check the eligibility rules too: the clinic lists age 26 or older, no current breast or prostate cancer, and not being pregnant. Finally, ask what happens if you want to stop. BioTE does not recommend removing pellets.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want hormone therapy from a physician trained in obstetrics and gynecology, you can pay cash for visits and medication, and you want thyroid care and metabolic testing in the same practice. If you need insurance to cover the visits themselves, call first and get prices in writing before you decide.
