What is Empower Health?
Empower Health is a weight loss and metabolic health clinic at 2651 W. South Jordan Parkway, Ste 101 C, South Jordan, UT 84095. The phone number is 385-485-5545. Dr. Nicholas Trujillo, D.O. is the prescribing physician. He is board certified in family medicine and obesity medicine and holds a degree in behavioral psychology. He opened the clinic in 2020 after leaving Granger.
The clinic offers help with losing weight and keeping it off, preventing or reversing chronic conditions, reducing prescription medications, personalized nutrition plans, advanced lab testing, and monthly visits with body composition testing. It prescribes semaglutide (Ozempic or Wegovy) and tirzepatide (Mounjaro or Zepbound), in commercial and compounded versions. In its own words: "We are very selective on who we think would be good candidates for these medications and we only prescribe them if that individual is proactively working on the core underlying issues regarding their health & weight."
Telehealth visits are offered for when you cannot get to the office or are out of town, but Dr. Trujillo is only licensed to practice in Utah. Hours are Monday through Thursday, 9 am to 5 pm MST. The clinic's Google listing shows a rating of 5 from 24 reviews.
This listing is for its South Jordan office at 2651 South Jordan Pkwy Ste 101c.
What does it cost?
It does not publish prices. Exact pricing is given at the free, in-person consultation. New patients pay a one-time onboarding fee for the first month's workup, then a fixed monthly rate from the second month. Add-on visits cost a discounted flat fee, and optional add-ons are the only extra charges. It does not say whether medication is included in the monthly rate.
The clinic does not accept health insurance. Payment is by debit, credit, HSA or FSA card, or direct bank transfer. It says HSA or FSA funds may be used for its services, and that a letter of medical necessity is issued when appropriate. Membership starts with a 4-month commitment, after which you can cancel at any time.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask whether the monthly fee covers the medication, and what the drug costs if it is billed separately. Ask whether the prescription will be brand-name or compounded, since the clinic offers both. Ask whether lab work is included in the monthly rate, and what repeat labs cost over time.
Ask what follow-up and telehealth visits cost, and how cancellation works after the four-month commitment. Ask who will handle your primary care, since Dr. Trujillo will not be your primary care provider. Finally, ask how your HSA or FSA administrator will treat the charges, because the clinic does not give tax advice.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you live in Utah, can attend the in-person consultation in South Jordan, are prepared to pay out of pocket for a membership, and want a plan built on nutrition and daily habits alongside any medication. It may not suit you if you live outside Utah or want your primary care handled in the same practice.
