About SLC Med Spa

What is SLC Med Spa?

SLC Med Spa has offices in Draper and Salt Lake City, Utah, and has been open since 2011. Most of its services are aesthetic, including Botox, Dysport, fillers, laser treatments and chemical peels. In its own words: "Utah’s premier Medical Spa for aesthetics, wellness & longevity"

Dr. Brent Larsen, MD, the owner, leads the weight loss consultation and the hormone program. Kristy Money, RN, BSN is also listed as a prescriber. Dr. Larsen's weight loss information says he is board-certified by the American Board of Obesity Medicine.

Beyond aesthetics, the clinic offers medical weight loss using GLP-1 medications, with nutrition coaching. The medications named are semaglutide and tirzepatide, along with the brand names Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro and Zepbound. It also offers hormone replacement therapy, including pellet therapy, peptide therapy, and B12 and IV infusion treatments. Virtual consultations are available alongside in-person visits. Google lists the clinic as a medical spa, rated 4.7 from 260 reviews.

This listing is for its Salt Lake City office at 2138 Highland Drive.

What does it cost?

The weight loss program is listed at $199.00. The clinic does not say whether that is a monthly or one-time fee, or whether the medication is included. The initial consultation to start the program is $195.

Pellet therapy is $375 for women, repeated every 3 to 4 months, or $600 for men, repeated every 6 months. A pellet membership is listed at $89 a month for women. Its membership terms describe automatic withdrawals of $69 for women or $79 for men each month for 12 months, covering the year's pellets and any follow-ups.

The clinic does not publish prices for peptides. It does not say whether insurance is accepted. It mentions financing but does not name a provider.

What should you ask before you book?

Ask whether the $199 covers the medication and whether it is charged monthly or once. Ask whether the medication is brand-name or compounded. Its hormone therapy sometimes uses bioidentical compounded formulations that are not FDA-approved, and it does not say where its peptides are made.

Ask which pellet price applies, $89 a month or the $69 and $79 withdrawals in the membership terms. Ask who signs your prescription and who reviews your labs. Ask what lab work and follow-up visits cost, and whether they are included.

If you join a membership, ask what you would owe if you cancel before 12 months. The membership terms say you pay the balance of full-price pellets. Ask whether the medication ships to your state, since the clinic advertises free shipping. Finally, ask which office you will be booked at and which business name appears on the bill, because the website also uses the name Draper Aesthetics.

Who is it a good fit for?

This is a good fit if you want aesthetic treatments and weight loss, hormone, or peptide care in one place, and you are comfortable paying out of pocket for each step. If you need a clear answer on insurance or on what the $199 covers, get those answers in writing before you pay the consultation fee.
