About Genesys Medical Institute

What is Genesys Men's Health?

Genesys Men's Health is a men's hormone clinic at 114 East 12450 South, Suite 206, in Draper, Utah. It also uses the name Genesys Men's Health Institute. Its main work is testosterone replacement therapy, and Jeff Pollock, PA, is the one prescriber named. Of the main kinds of cash-pay care, which are weight loss, hormone therapy, peptides and longevity, it offers hormone therapy only. It does not list weight loss, peptide or longevity services. Most of the clinic's material gives the Draper office, but one of its descriptions places the practice in Salt Lake City, and some of its listing information shows a second office address that it does not describe elsewhere.

The clinic offers testosterone replacement, erectile dysfunction treatment, and a free online testosterone self test. The medications it names are testosterone injections, compounded testosterone creams, and HCG injections when needed. Patients choose an injection or a cream. After the first visit, the clinic teaches them to inject or apply the cream themselves, and they fill the prescription at a pharmacy. It treats patients anywhere in Utah by telemedicine. In its own words: "Before undergoing testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), we evaluate your individual needs and interests before selecting the best method of treatment."

This listing is for its Draper office at 114 East 12450 South, Suite 206.

What does it cost?

The online self test is free. The first in-office evaluation with a hormone doctor is also free, though it is normally $150. Labs are the first real expense. Without insurance, or with a high deductible plan, the clinic's discounted labs cost $329. A 45 minute review of those labs costs $75, usually $150. Without insurance help, blood tests can cost upwards of $1,500.

The yearly program fee is $1200 to $1750 for the first year, dropping to $500 per year after that. The clinic does not say whether medication is included in that fee. Its listed monthly medication prices are $25 to $35 for testosterone injections, $20 to $30 for compounded creams, and $40 to $80 for HCG injections when needed. The clinic's own first-year estimate is $1,650 to $3,200, and $600 to $1500 each year after, depending on insurance and prescriptions. It does not say whether it accepts insurance. In its own words: "In the case that insurance will not cover labs or prescription hormones, we can arrange for huge cash discounts." It does not publish HSA or financing options, or its cancellation terms.

What should you ask before you book?

Ask whether the yearly program fee covers the testosterone and HCG, or whether you pay the pharmacy separately each month. Ask whether the injections are compounded or brand name, since only the creams are listed as compounded. Ask who writes and signs the prescription, and whether a physician reviews the plan. Ask which office you would attend, Draper or the second address, and whether the telemedicine visit and labs can be done from home.

Ask whether it accepts your insurance, and whether labs and prescriptions get billed to insurance first. Ask what follow-up visits and repeat labs cost after the first year, and whether the $500 yearly fee covers them. Ask how you cancel, and whether any part of the yearly fee is refunded if you stop partway through. The clinic's number is (801) 671-7456.

Who is it a good fit for?

This is a good fit if you want testosterone replacement specifically, you can pay cash for labs, a yearly program fee and monthly medication, and you are comfortable with a PA as the named prescriber. If you are looking for weight loss, peptide or longevity care, this clinic does not list those services.
