What is Muse Med Spa?

Muse Med Spa is a medical spa at 588 South Texas Boulevard, Suite B, in Weslaco, Texas. It has a Google rating of 5 from 3 reviews. Most of its work is aesthetic: Botox and Xeomin, hyaluronic acid and Radiesse fillers, microneedling, dermaplaning with BioRePeel, teeth whitening and body contouring. Jeanette Tafolla, RN, is the owner and nurse injector, and she is the only prescriber the clinic names. The menu also includes NAD+ and vitamin injections, PCDC injections for stubborn fat, and post-operative care such as manual lymphatic drainage.

In its own words: "We specialize in medical-grade aesthetic treatments including Botox®, dermal fillers, medical weight loss programs, vitamin therapy, and post-operative care such as manual lymphatic drainage." Its booking menu, though, lists no weight loss service and names no weight loss medication. It does not list hormone therapy either. Treat the weight loss claim as unconfirmed until the clinic tells you what it actually offers.

What does it cost?

Most services have a published starting price. A Botox consult starts at $50. Xeomin is $10 per unit and Botox by Allergan is $13 per unit, with $50 off for new or existing clients who book 40 or more units every 3 months. Hyaluronic acid filler starts at $465, Radiesse at $600, and the Refresh Duo (full-face Botox plus a full syringe of lip filler) is $1,050. Microneedling with VAMP starts at $350, dermaplaning with BioRePeel at $149, NAD+ at $50, vitamin injections at $25 and body contouring at $75. Teeth whitening is $90, $110 or $130 depending on session length. The Start Here consultation starts at $50.5, and its fee is applied to any service you book.

The clinic does not say whether these prices include the medication, and it does not say whether it accepts insurance. It offers Buy Now, Pay Later in person for bookings from $50 to $4,000, with approval before the appointment. Deposits are non-refundable and can be transferred once with at least 24 hours' notice. Cancelling or rescheduling with less notice forfeits the deposit, and so does a no-call, no-show. All sales are final. It publishes no weight loss price because it does not list that service, and PCDC is shown from $0, so ask for the real figure.

What should you ask before you book?

Ask whether a medical weight loss program is offered at all. If it is, ask which medication it uses, who prescribes it, whether the drug is brand-name or compounded, and what it costs each month. Ask what any monthly fee covers and whether the medicine is included.

Ask who writes the prescriptions for injectables, vitamin injections and NAD+, and who will be doing your treatment. Ask whether the NAD+ and vitamin products are brand-name or compounded. Ask what follow-up visits and lab work cost, whether telehealth is available, and whether insurance is accepted. Ask what counts as an exception to its no-refund policy.

Who is it a good fit for?

This is a good fit if you want aesthetic injectables, skin treatments or vitamin injections from a nurse injector in Weslaco and you are comfortable paying cash with a deposit. If you are looking for a medical weight loss program or hormone therapy, get answers to the questions above before you pay anything, because neither is on its booking menu.
