About Clark Wellness

What is Clark Wellness?

Clark Wellness is a functional medicine practice with offices in Waco and Hamilton, Texas. Its weight control clinic in Hamilton operated as the Crouch Clinic for more than 30 years before moving under Clark Wellness, PLLC in 2023. Angelica Clark, PA-C, IFMCP, and Mark Crouch, D.O., are listed as the current providers at both locations. Vivian Asamoah, MD, is listed as medical director. Clark is a Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner with over 18 years of experience. Besides weight control, the clinic offers functional medicine visits, IV therapy, injections including weight loss injections, and a Metabolic Approach to Cancer program. It does not diagnose or treat cancer, and it works alongside oncology care. On Google it is rated 5 from 109 reviews.

This listing is for its Waco office at 7524 Bosque Blvd Ste D.

What does it cost?

The New Patient Visit is $300. The visit includes a provider visit, a nutrition consultation, complete blood work, a B12 injection, a body composition test, a customized nutrition plan, and a prescription for an appetite suppressant if the patient qualifies. It does not say whether the medication itself is included in the $300. A $75 non-refundable deposit goes toward that first visit and is lost if the first appointment is missed. Returning visits are $60 within three months, $85 after three months, and $99 after twelve months. Phone consultations are $65 for patients already seen in person. Add-ons include a B12 injection at $20 ($25 if not given with a visit) and a Lipo Lean injection at $25. Annual lab work is required, either the Superchem Panel at $130 or Superchem Plus at $180 with vitamin D. The clinic is cash pay only and does not accept insurance or Medicare. It accepts credit and debit cards, HSA and FSA funds, with a 3.5% fee on credit card payments, and it does not accept checks.

What should you ask before you book?

Ask who signs your prescription and how often you will see that provider, since an in-person visit is required every three months. Ask whether the $300 includes the medication, and what a month of it costs on top. Ask whether the appetite suppressant is a commercial product or a compounded one, because its phentermine is a compounded time-release formulation. Ask what the thyroid and peptide add-ons cost, since an $85 follow-up applies when thyroid management, peptides, or LDN are included. Ask for the Good Faith Estimate that follows the discovery call, with the annual lab costs in writing. Ask how cancellation works once the deposit is paid, because the clinic does not publish cancellation terms. Ask for office hours, which it does not list.

Who is it a good fit for?

This is a good fit if you are between 18 and 60 with a BMI of 27 or higher, you want to pay cash, and you can come in person every three months. If you manage blood pressure, diabetes, or a heart condition, those stay with your primary care provider. Tell the clinic before booking if you have chest pain, heart disease, a stroke history, uncontrolled high blood pressure, certain types of glaucoma, or an irregular heart rhythm. In its own words: "Not everyone needs prescription weight loss medications to be successful and not everyone will qualify for these medications."
