About Alamo City Urgent Care
What is Alamo City Urgent Care?
Alamo City Urgent Care is a walk-in urgent care group with four clinics in San Antonio, Texas, in the Marbach, Shaenfield, Rigsby and Brook Hollow areas. Most of its work is urgent care for illnesses, minor injuries, sutures, flu and strep testing, sports injuries, physicals and pediatric visits. Weight loss is one of its listed services, and that program uses semaglutide. All four clinics are open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays. It is veteran-owned and veteran-operated, and it does not say how long it has been open.
Six nurse practitioners are listed as prescribers: Bethany Concepcion, FNP-C, Michael Cox, FNP-C, Lisa Garza, FNP-C, Lisa Saldivar, FNP-C, Jillian VanDamme, FNP-C and Sheri Chase, FNP-C. The team also includes a clinical operations director, KC Howerton, who is not a prescriber. The clinic does not name which provider runs the weight loss program, and it does not say whether telehealth is offered.
This listing is for its San Antonio office at 8223 Marbach Rd Suite #102.
What does it cost?
The weight loss program has one published price: $210 a month for new patients through February 28, 2027, with a standard rate of $300 a month. The medication is included in that monthly price, and there is no separate pharmacy bill. In its own words: "Medication included. Consultation required." The program lists an in-person consultation as included, but it does not state a separate consultation fee. It does not say whether insurance applies to the monthly program fee, and it does not publish commitment or cancellation terms for the program.
Insurance is accepted at all four locations. Urgent care visit prices are not printed in the text. The clinic links to a self-pay pricing page, so ask for the visit price before you go.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask which of the six nurse practitioners will run your weight loss care and sign your prescription. The program describes board-certified providers, but every prescriber listed is a nurse practitioner, so ask which board certification applies to the person treating you.
Ask whether the $210 covers the consultation, the follow-up visits and any lab work, and what labs cost if they do not. Ask whether the semaglutide is brand-name or compounded, and which pharmacy fills it.
One of the weight loss pages names vitamin B-12 injections as the primary component, which conflicts with the semaglutide program described elsewhere in its weight loss material. Ask which treatment you would actually receive and whether it is the one covered by the monthly price.
Finally, ask how cancellation works and whether you must stay enrolled for a set period. Ask whether any part of the program can be billed to insurance, and whether follow-up can be done by telehealth. The program's request line is 210-941-2282.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want walk-in urgent care for everyday illness or injury and a cash-pay weight loss program at the same clinics, and you are willing to attend an in-person consultation before starting. It is a weaker fit if you need a named prescriber overseeing your weight loss care or remote follow-up, since neither is described.
