About The Spa by Sheena
What is The Spa by Sheena?
The Spa by Sheena is a medical day spa at 8713 Milwaukee Ave #200 in Lubbock, Texas, open since 2016. Most of what it does is medical aesthetics: injectables, laser treatments, skincare and advanced skin work. Its wellness and hormone side offers four services: HRT Pellets (bioidentical hormone pellet therapy using the EvexiPEL method), GLP-1 Weight Management, B12 Skinny Shot and NAD+ Therapy. It serves Lubbock and West Texas and has a 5-star Google rating from 699 reviews.
The GLP-1 program is managed by Rebecca Fant, FNP-C, MSN, a nurse practitioner, under medical director Dr. patricia arLedge, MD, who is a plastic surgeon. Angela Hunsaker, RN, works on the team as an injector.
What does it cost?
Compounded semaglutide starts at $215 a month, and compounded tirzepatide starts at $375 a month. It does not say whether those monthly prices include the medication. No consultation fee is published for GLP-1, and the one stated fee is a $150 HRT consultation, after which HRT pellet pricing is set. NAD+ is $75 per injection. It does not publish prices for B12 Skinny Shot, lab work or follow-up visits.
The clinic does not accept or bill insurance. In its words: "We do not accept or bill insurance, so you always know what you are paying up front." The VIP Membership is $150 a month, applied as a credit toward services, with 10% off treatments. Its cancellation terms are not stated.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask whether the $215 or $375 monthly price includes the medication, and what the consultation, outside blood panel and follow-up visits cost on top of it. Follow-ups are scheduled monthly during dose increases and then quarterly, so ask what each one costs.
Ask what "compounded" means for your plan. The clinic states that compounded versions are not FDA-approved, which is different from Wegovy, Ozempic, Zepbound and Mounjaro. Ask who signs your prescription, the nurse practitioner or the medical director. Ask whether visits are in person only, since the GLP-1 page describes in-person evaluation and telehealth is not mentioned, and ask about hours, which are not listed. Finally, ask how to cancel, since membership and cancellation terms are not stated.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want medically supervised GLP-1 or hormone pellet care in Lubbock, you are paying cash, and you want a nurse practitioner overseeing the plan. Call first to confirm the monthly price, medication and cancellation terms.
