What is Westwind Medical Associates?
Westwind Medical Associates is a family medicine practice at 6604 Westwind Drive in El Paso, Texas 79912. Mina Haidarian, MD runs it. She has been board certified in family medicine since 1995, practiced in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and opened this practice in May 2010.
The practice sees patients of all ages for family medicine, urgent care, women's health, preventive medicine, minor surgery, prescription refills and flu vaccinations. It has an on-site lab, and same-day or next-day appointments are available. Weight management and anti-aging medicine are listed among its services. The office is open Monday through Thursday, 8:30 am to 5 pm, and Friday, 8:30 am to 4 pm. A doctor is on call 24 hours a day for urgent needs after hours.
What does it cost?
The clinic does not publish a price for its weight management program, and no consultation fee is listed. Anti-aging medicine has no published price either. The only prices shown are $40 for a flu vaccination and $40 for a sports physical, with walk-ins welcome.
It accepts Medicare, Medicaid and most major insurance plans. If your plan requires a copay, coinsurance or deductible, you pay it at the visit, by cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express. Financing, HSA use and membership terms are not mentioned.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask whether the weight program fee includes medication. The clinic does not say, and no weight loss medication is named. Its weight page says Dr. Haidarian does not subscribe to "weight loss" injections, so ask which medications, if any, the program uses. If one is prescribed, ask whether it is brand-name or compounded.
Ask what follow-up visits and lab work cost on top of the program, and how cancellation works, since no membership terms are posted. Ask whether Dr. Haidarian oversees your program herself. In its own words: "She will personally develop and oversee all aspects of your weight loss program on an ongoing basis."
If you are interested in hormone therapy or peptide therapy, ask directly. The clinic does not say whether hormone therapy is offered, and it does not mention peptide therapy at all. Ask about telehealth visits too, since that is not addressed either.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want an in-person family doctor who also runs a physician-supervised weight program, and you can keep weekday office hours in El Paso. If you need published prices, a fee that includes medication, or telehealth visits, call (915) 845-4600 and get those answers before you book.
