About HILL COUNTRY FAMILY CLINIC

What is Hill Country Family Clinic?

Hill Country Family Clinic is mainly a direct primary care practice, with aesthetic and wellness services alongside it. Its membership plans cover sick visits, physicals, chronic disease management, medication management and specialist referrals. Prescribers listed are Maria Hooper, APRN, FNP-C, MSN; Kelsey Trahan, APRN, FNP-C, MSN; Virginia Hevner, APRN, FNP-BC, MSN; Anna Boone, FNP-C; and Brian Kim, MD, listed as supervising physician.

Among its medical services, it offers medical weight loss (GLP-1 and GIP are named), male and female hormone replacement therapy, and peptide therapy, including BPC-157, Sermorelin and MOTS-c. It does not clearly describe itself as longevity medicine. It also offers Botox, derma fillers, PRP treatments, IV hydration and telemedicine appointments. It has offices in Austin and Dripping Springs, with a Bee Cave office marked coming soon. Its Google rating is 5.0 from 2 reviews.

This listing is for its Dripping Springs office at 400 US-290 Ste B-105.

What does it cost?

Membership is the one price it publishes. Adult membership is $100 a month, and child membership for ages 1 to 17 (with an adult) is $39 a month. A $90 monthly rate covers military, students and families of 4 or more, and a $75 rate covers employers with 5 or more employees. Membership does not include labs or medication. The initial consultation is $150 plus labs, due at the time of service, and cash-pay lab panels are $100 each. It is a non-insurance provider. In its own words: "Our practice can manage most acute and chronic needs, however, we recommend our services be pair with a catastrophic insurance for unexpected needs."

It does not publish prices for medical weight loss, hormone therapy or peptide therapy, and it does not state cancellation or commitment terms for membership.

What should you ask before you book?

Ask who signs the prescription for a weight loss, hormone or peptide program, and whether that person is one of the prescribers listed above. Ask whether the program fee includes medication, since the membership page says medication is not included and the program pages do not say. Ask whether the medication is brand-name or compounded, and who supplies it. Ask what follow-up visits and repeat labs cost, since each cash panel is $100. Ask how to cancel, whether there is a minimum term, and whether any part of a fee is refunded. Ask which office you would be seen at, and when the Bee Cave office opens.

Who is it a good fit for?

This is a good fit if you want a primary care relationship on a monthly membership and you are ready to pay cash for labs and medication on top of it. It is a weaker fit if you need the full monthly cost of a weight loss, hormone or peptide program before you book, since none is published.
