About Oceanside Aesthetics & Wellness

What is Oceanside Aesthetics & Wellness?

Oceanside Aesthetics & Wellness is mainly an aesthetics practice at 14641 South Padre Island Drive Suite B in Corpus Christi, Texas 78418. Its services include Neuro "Tox"in, dermal filler, microneedling, hair restoration, sclerotherapy, skin treatments, IV hydration, vitamins, NAD+, methylene blue, PRX Derm Perfexion and CO2Lift caboxytherapy. Weight loss is one of those services, offered as a medically directed program.

Jennifer Johnson-Scholl, BSN, MSN, RN, founded the practice and brings more than 20 years of healthcare experience to it. The off-site medical director, Jeffrey Hutchins, D.O., is the prescriber named for the weight loss medications. Every new weight loss patient completes a Good Faith Exam, a telehealth visit with a midlevel provider, before care begins. The office lists hours of 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm Monday through Thursday, 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm on Friday, and weekends by appointment. It has a 5-star Google rating from 24 reviews.

In its own words: "All medications are compounded by FDA-regulated, state-licensed pharmacies pursuant to a patient-specific physicians prescription and medical evaluation."

This listing is for its Corpus Christi office at 14641 S Padre Island Dr Ste b.

What does it cost?

The standard weight loss programs are priced monthly, and the monthly price includes medication. In its own words: "Monthly Price includes medical management, diet education and 4 weeks of medication prescribed by off site medical director." It does not publish a dollar figure for that monthly price, and it does not publish a consultation fee.

The one program with a published price is a 12-week micro dosing program. Semaglutide is $150 a month for 12 weeks, and tirzepatide is $200 a month for 12 weeks. That price includes two Good Faith exams, prescribed medication, nurse support and education. It also offers a payment plan and asks patients to ask about weekly payments.

Payment is due at the time of service, by cash, major credit card or debit card. Cancellations and reschedules need at least 24 hours' notice. It does not say whether it accepts insurance.

What should you ask before you book?

Ask who signs the prescription for your medication. The medical director is off site, and it does not say whether a prescriber sees patients in person at the office or only by telehealth. Ask how often you would see the prescriber and whether those visits are included in the monthly price.

Ask whether the monthly price covers the medication every month after the first 12 weeks, and what you would pay if it does not. Ask which pharmacy compounds the semaglutide or tirzepatide and what dose you would start on. Ask what lab work and follow-up visits cost, since it does not publish prices for either.

If you are considering NAD+ or peptides, ask whether a clinician prescribes them, because it does not say. Ask whether insurance is accepted, what the cancellation terms are beyond the 24-hour notice, and whether a membership or minimum commitment applies.

Who is it a good fit for?

This is a good fit if you want weight loss care run by a nurse-founded practice with an off-site physician prescriber, you can keep up with telehealth visits in the schedule the practice sets, and you are comfortable paying cash or by card at each visit. If you would rather have a prescriber in the room at every step, call first and ask the questions above before you book.
