About RescueMD

What is RescueMD?

RescueMD is a multispecialty medical clinic in Allen, Texas, founded in 2020. Primary care and physician-supervised medical weight loss are its main lines. It also offers women's health, diabetes management, high blood pressure management, registered dietitian services, men's health, Medicare wellness visits, DOT and immigration physicals, and online sick visits. Patients from Frisco, Plano, McKinney and surrounding North Texas communities are seen at the Allen office.

Olubukola Okoro, MD, is the only prescriber named. She is a board-certified physician specializing in internal medicine, lifestyle medicine and obesity medicine. The practice names Wegovy, Zepbound, Ozempic, Mounjaro, Rybelsus, Saxenda, Trulicity and Victoza. It describes GLP-1 treatment as used when medically appropriate, alongside dietitian support, body composition testing and ongoing follow-up. Care is available in person and by telehealth for eligible patients. Hours are Monday to Friday, 08:00-17:00, and Saturday, 08:00-14:00.

Under women's health, RescueMD lists menopause and perimenopause management and a menstrual and hormonal health evaluation. It does not name a hormone therapy program. Peptide therapy and longevity medicine are not among its listed services. Its Google listing shows a 4.8 rating from 1229 reviews, in the category Weight loss service.

What does it cost?

RescueMD does not publish prices for weight loss or GLP-1 care, and it does not say whether medication is included in any price. The first step it offers is a free consultation, booked as a Nurse Practitioner Consultation.

On insurance, RescueMD says that "Coverage differs by plan and indication." Its team can help with prior authorization, and self-pay options are available. It does not clearly say whether it accepts insurance. It does not publish HSA use, financing, membership terms or cancellation rules.

What should you ask before you book?

Ask who decides on medication and who signs the prescription. Dr. Okoro is the named prescriber, but your first contact may be with a nurse practitioner, so ask whether that person can prescribe and when you would see Dr. Okoro.

Ask whether the monthly cost includes the medication, and whether the drug is brand-name or compounded. Ask what follow-up visits and lab work cost, since those can add up over months. Ask which visits can be done by telehealth and which must be in person.

Ask whether your insurance plan is accepted, and how prior authorization affects the start date. Ask how cancellation works and whether there is a membership fee. The clinic's own wording is plain on eligibility: "A prescription is never guaranteed." Ask what happens if you are found not to be a candidate, and whether you would still be charged for the visits.

Who is it a good fit for?

This is a good fit if you want physician-supervised weight management from a practice that also handles primary care in Allen, and you are ready to ask about price, prescribing and insurance before you commit. It is a weaker match if you are looking for peptide therapy or longevity medicine, which are not among its listed services.
