What is Complete Women's Care?
Complete Women's Care is an obstetrics and gynecology practice at 2020 Rock Springs Road in Smyrna, Tennessee. Its main work is women's health: wellness exams, pregnancy care, gynecological surgery and care through menopause. Medically guided weight loss is one of eight listed services, alongside in-house ultrasounds, an in-house lab, in-office procedures, aesthetics and lactation counseling. Surgery and deliveries take place at TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center, where its physicians do their hospital work.
The physicians are Alixandra Hunzicker, M.D., and Mistye Taylor, M.D. The practice also lists Alisha Gallas, CNM, and Caroline Peacock, CNM, along with Lauren McLean, WHNP-C, and Emma Trent, FNP-C. It does not say which of them runs the weight loss program. The weight loss program is described this way: "Treatment plans may include prescription medications, lifestyle guidance, and ongoing monitoring." The weight loss medications are not named. The only medications it names are for aesthetic work: Radiesse, Botox, Dysport and Restylane. Its Google rating is 4.5, from 469 reviews.
What does it cost?
It does not publish prices for the weight loss program, and it does not publish a consultation fee. Ask for both before you book.
It says it participates with most major carriers, including Aetna, Cigna OOP, UMR, Tricare East, and UnitedHealthcare for employer-based plans only. It also accepts some Medicare Advantage policies and most Medicaid plans. It is not in network with Cigna Local Plus, BCBS Networks E and L, UnitedHealthcare Marketplace plans or Oscar. It does not say whether weight loss visits are billed to insurance, so ask.
Self-pay patients pay at the time of service by cash, check, Visa or Mastercard. It offers a self-pay discount but gives no amount. A payment plan requires a call before your appointment. Lab work is billed separately through PathGroup, and ultrasound readings through The Perinatal Group, so expect separate bills from those groups.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask which provider manages the weight loss program and who writes the prescriptions. Ask whether the fee includes the medication, and whether the drug is brand-name or compounded. Ask what follow-up visits cost, how many are included, and what monitoring lab work will cost through PathGroup. Ask whether telehealth is offered, since the practice does not say. Ask how a program is cancelled and whether it has a membership term. The 24-hour notice rule it publishes applies to appointments.
Ask about hormone therapy too, because it is not among the listed services. Know that once you establish care with a provider, you stay with that provider, and the practice does not move patients between its physicians. Prescription refills are not handled after hours, and non-emergency after-hours calls carry a $30 fee. Office hours are Monday through Thursday, 8 AM to 5 PM, and Friday, 8 AM to noon. The phone number is (615) 223-0200.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want gynecology, pregnancy or menopause care from the same office as a weight loss program, and you are willing to ask the questions above before you pay. If you want a stand-alone weight loss clinic with published prices and a named medication list, call first and compare other clinics before you commit.
