About ZüpMed
What is ZüpMed?
ZüpMed is a medical practice at 4576 Poplar Avenue in the Laurelwood Shopping Center, East Memphis, Memphis, TN 38117. Its main work is primary care and urgent care. Weight loss and hormone therapy are among its services, along with physicals, chronic disease management, medication management, IV hydration, facial injectables, and Covid-19 testing and care.
The weight loss program names semaglutide and tirzepatide, which the clinic also lists under the brand names Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro and Zepbound. Dr. Yopp is the only prescriber the clinic names, and no credentials are published for Dr. Yopp. Nurse practitioners and clinical pharmacists may do the first evaluation, and a ZüpMed physician supervises patients in the program. It is open Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm and Saturday from 8am to 2pm, and it is closed Sunday. Visits must be booked in advance.
What does it cost?
The weight loss path starts with a $199 new patient evaluation, which is designed to help with insurance coverage for weight-loss medications. After that, the weight management program is $99 a month. The clinic does not say whether that fee includes the medication or what the medication costs on its own. A $149 a month membership tier adds weight loss supervision and cardiometabolic care. A $99 a month Urgent Care Membership covers unlimited urgent care visits and telehealth, but not ongoing programs such as weight management. Without a membership, urgent care visits are $199 each, and each extra 3D body scan is $99.
The clinic describes "fully transparent, all-inclusive pricing," yet its weight loss page does not state what the medication costs. It does not say whether it accepts insurance. If a plan does not cover the medication, its providers look for cash-pay options for branded products.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask who signs your prescription and what credentials that person holds, since none are published for Dr. Yopp. Ask whether the $99 monthly fee includes the medication, and if it does not, what the drug costs each month. Ask whether the medication is brand-name or compounded, since the clinic uses compounding pharmacies when that is clinically appropriate. Ask what follow-up visits and lab work cost, and whether any of it is billed to insurance. Ask how to cancel and whether there is a notice period, because the clinic does not say. If you already belong to ZüpMed, ask about your plan. Members who take no action before January 1, 2026 move automatically to the Urgent Care Membership, which does not include refills of ongoing medications.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want same-day urgent or primary care near East Memphis and are ready to pay cash for a weight loss program once you have the medication cost in writing. If you are looking for peptide or longevity services, the clinic does not list either, so ask about them directly before you book.
