What is Southern Beauty Aesthetics?
Southern Beauty Aesthetics is a medical spa with offices in Powdersville and Pickens, South Carolina. The Powdersville office is the primary one. Most of the menu is cosmetic and spa work, including Botox, fillers, facials, microneedling, laser treatments, massage, IV drips and laser hair removal. Medical weight loss is one of its services, with semaglutide and tirzepatide injections offered within its programs.
Its clinicians are licensed, and its nurse practitioners each have more than 15 years of medical experience. It does not name the person who prescribes for weight loss. In its own words, the programs include "exams with licensed clinicians, behavioral and wellness coaching, dietary planning, and prescription medications." On Google it has a 5-star rating from 24 reviews and is listed as a medical spa.
This listing is for its Piedmont office at 3322 Highway 153.
What does it cost?
Semaglutide is $299 a month. Tirzepatide is $299 a month at 2.5mg to 5mg and $399 a month at 7.5mg or greater. It also lists two programs, billed by visit. The ProThin program costs $199 for the initial visit, $99 for the two-week follow-up and $129 for each monthly visit. The prescription program costs $129 for the initial visit, $69 for the two-week follow-up and $59 for each monthly visit.
It does not say whether the medication is included in those program prices. Financing with Cherry is the only payment option it names, and it does not say whether it accepts insurance. It does not publish a separate consultation fee for weight loss visits. The one membership term it gives is a minimum of 3 months, though that line appears under its skincare membership, not its weight loss programs.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask who signs the prescription, and whether that person is a physician or a nurse practitioner. Ask whether the monthly fee covers the medication, and what the medication costs on top of it if it does not. Ask whether the drug is brand-name or compounded, since the clinic does not say.
Ask what lab work costs after the initial visit. The first visit includes labs, but the clinic does not say what follow-up labs cost. Ask whether the 3-month minimum applies to weight loss, and how cancellation works. Read the Terms & Refunds Policy before you pay.
Ask whether follow-up visits can be done by video, since the clinic does not mention telehealth. Ask which office your weight loss visits happen at, and whether HSA or FSA cards are accepted.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want cosmetic or spa treatments in Powdersville or Pickens and medical weight loss under the same roof, and you are comfortable asking who prescribes before you pay. It is a weaker fit if you need a named physician managing your care from the first visit or you need insurance billing.
