About PURE Aesthetics

What is PURE Aesthetics?

PURE Aesthetics is a med spa with offices in North Myrtle Beach and Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. Most of what it does is aesthetic work: neurotoxins, dermal fillers, several laser and IPL treatments, facials, waxing, tinting and massage therapy. Medical weight loss is one of its services, and functional medicine is another. Dr. Kenneth Santiago is the medical director and an owner. Leah Frick, MSN is a nurse injector and an owner. Dacia Woessner is a functional medicine nurse practitioner. It has a 5 rating from 68 Google reviews.

The weight-loss program uses Semaglutide and Tirzepatide. In its own words: "Our program offers weekly injections of compounded Semaglutide or Tirzepatide." It requires a consultation with a medical provider before the program starts, with follow-ups at 3 months and as needed after that. Injections can be given at the office or shipped to your home. Posted hours run from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on most weekdays, with Wednesday open until 7:00 pm. It is closed on weekends.

What does it cost?

It does not publish weight-loss prices, and it does not say whether medication is included in any price. It advertises a free consultation. The only prices it publishes are for facial memberships. PURE VIP is $79 a month and PURE ELITE is $150 a month. Both include monthly facials and discounts on other services, and both come with a Tox special at $8.99 per unit. Neither membership is a weight-loss program. It does not state an insurance policy, and it does not mention HSA or financing. Cancellation terms are not published either.

What should you ask before you book?

Ask who signs the weight-loss prescription, since it does not say which prescriber runs the program. Ask whether any monthly fee includes the medication, and what the medication costs on its own. Ask which compounding pharmacy fills the prescription and how the shipped option works. Ask what the consultation, the 3-month follow-up and any lab work cost. Ask whether any visit can be done by video, since telehealth is not stated. Ask how to cancel and whether a refund applies. If you are interested in peptides, ask about them directly. They come up in a functional medicine post, but peptide therapy is not listed as a service of its own.

Who is it a good fit for?

This is a good fit if you want a med spa that also offers medical weight loss, and you are willing to get the prescriber, the medication cost and the cancellation terms in writing before you pay. If you mainly want aesthetic treatments and a membership, the facial memberships are worth a call. For the weight-loss program, the questions above are worth asking first.
