About Holy City Med
What is Holy City Med?
Holy City Med is a membership primary and urgent care practice with offices in North Charleston and West Ashley, a neighborhood of Charleston. It does not take insurance or Medicaid, so patients either join a membership or pay per visit. The only prescriber named is Alex Law, PA-C.
Weight loss is one of its listed services, and the most fully described is Weight Loss+, a virtual GLP-1 program. It prescribes semaglutide and tirzepatide, and the medication is shipped to your home at no added cost. In its own words: "Clinic-hours video visits with our own providers, anywhere in South Carolina." That line covers its video visits generally, not only weight loss.
It does not list clinic hours or the number of years it has been open. It does not list hormone or peptide therapy. Its Google reviews average 4.8 across 668 reviews.
This listing is for its North Charleston office at 5479 N Rhett Ave.
What does it cost?
Weight Loss+ is $69 a month, and medication is charged on top of that. Semaglutide starts at $99 a month at its lowest dose level, and tirzepatide starts at $149 a month. The highest tirzepatide level listed is $449 a month, so the price rises as the provider adjusts your dose.
The non-member consultation is $49, credited back when you join. That brings your first month to $20. Members get the consultation and the program included and pay only for medication. A Personal+ membership is $90 a month, and under it the Weight Loss+ program fee drops to $0. Maintenance after you reach your goal is $39 a month. The membership terms are "90-day minimum, then 30 days’ notice." The clinic does not say whether the program alone carries the same terms.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask whether Alex Law, PA-C writes your prescription, and who manages your care when Alex is unavailable.
Ask whether the medication is brand-name or compounded. The clinic does not say.
Ask what your total monthly cost would be at the dose you start on, and how the price changes if your provider raises the dose.
Ask what labs cost beyond the full blood panel done at the start and then yearly.
Ask how side effects are handled between video visits, and how quickly you can get an answer.
Ask whether the 90-day minimum applies to the $69 program, and how to give notice if you stop.
Ask for the clinic's hours, since none are published. The main line is 843-465-9248.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want a provider-led GLP-1 program run mostly by video, with a named prescriber and follow-up every 4 weeks, and you can pay for the medication each month on top of the program fee. It is a poor match if you need insurance to cover the medication, since the clinic takes none.
