What is The Well MD?

What does it cost?

Weight management has a member price and a non-member price. Non-members pay a $350 consultation, $70 for initial labs and $175 a month for monthly visits and support. Members have the consultation waived, pay the same $70 for labs and $75 a month. Cash-pay medication filled through a pharmacy starts at $200 a month for either group, and the program fees do not include it.

Primary care membership has a $99 enrollment fee and a monthly fee by age, from $155 a month for ages 18 to 41 up to $175 a month for ages 65 to 99. A family membership has a $180 enrollment fee. The clinic does not publish prices for hormone replacement therapy. It does not bill insurance, though it says many services can be paid with HSA or FSA funds, and that you should check with your plan administrator.

What should you ask before you book?

Ask which GLP-1 medication is prescribed, since the clinic does not name it, and whether it is brand-name or compounded. Ask who fills it and how the $200 a month figure changes with dose.

Ask who makes the prescribing decisions each month, since the weight program also lists nutritionists and trainers on its team. Ask what follow-up visits and labs cost beyond the $70 initial panel, and what hormone therapy evaluation and monitoring cost. Ask whether follow-up can be done by video, how to cancel and whether there is a minimum term, and how long the practice has been open.

Who is it a good fit for?

This is a good fit if you are paying cash for weight management or hormone evaluation and are ready to settle the medication cost and cancellation terms before you book. It may not suit you if you need weekend care, since the office is closed Saturday and Sunday and after-hours access is for members only.
