What is Roots Integrative Medicine?

Roots Integrative Medicine is a primary care clinic for ages 1 and up that blends traditional medicine with holistic, root-cause care. Its main location is in West Columbia. It also has a services-only location in Columbia, where provider visits do not take place. The practice opened its Columbia location in March 2024.

The two prescribers named are Chelsea Turner, FNP-C, who founded the practice, and Lauren Francis, FNP-C. Provider visits happen at the West Columbia location.

Weight loss is one of several services. The clinic offers once-weekly semaglutide or tirzepatide injections, prescribed by an integrative provider and compounded by a pharmacy the clinic works with. It also offers Lipo-Mino-C injections for people who want a weight management option that is not a peptide. Other services include IV nutrient therapy, infrared sauna, ozone therapies, health coaching, low dose allergen therapy, PEMF therapy, microneedling with PRP, and PRP joint injections. Visits can be in person or virtual.

What does it cost?

Office visits are cash pay. The clinic does not bill insurance for visits, though it bills labs through insurance. It will provide a superbill you can submit yourself. In its own words: "Insurance just does not reimburse for longer, in-depth integrative visits." HSA and FSA accounts can be used, and payment is due at the time of service.

A new patient visit is $299 for a 60-minute appointment, effective February 1st, 2026. A nonrefundable $75 booking fee counts toward that total. Follow-up visits run $175 to $249. Sick visits are $60 for routine and $110 for complex.

Membership is $40 a month for patient membership, which includes visits with practitioners and discounts on services, supplements and products. Services-only membership is $30 a month and covers discounts outside office visits. You can cancel at any time, but a $50 cancellation fee applies if you cancel within the first 12 months. Dues are withdrawn on the 15th of each month.

The weight loss injection page lists prices from $75, plus an initial $75 consultation for people who are not members. The price depends on which stage of the titration schedule you are on. The clinic does not publish a per-dose or monthly price for the injections, and it does not say whether medication is included in the injection fee.

What should you ask before you book?

Ask who writes the prescription and whether it will be one of the two named prescribers. Ask which pharmacy compounds the medication, since it is compounded by a pharmacy the clinic works with. Ask what the medication costs per month at your stage of titration, and whether it is part of the injection fee.

Ask how often you need to come in for the weekly injection and whether each visit is billed separately. Ask what the follow-up labs cost. The clinic typically orders fasting morning labs with a follow-up visit 2 to 3 weeks after the first. Ask what happens if your intake forms are late, since a fee of up to the full new patient amount may apply. Ask how to cancel your membership and what it costs in your first year.

Who is it a good fit for?

This is a good fit if you are paying cash for primary care, want longer visits, and are comfortable asking for the monthly medication price before you book.
