What is Aesthetically Oriented?
Aesthetically Oriented is a physician-owned medical spa at 5168 Campbells Run Road, Suite 203, Pittsburgh, PA 15205. Most of what it does is cosmetic: Botox, Dysport and Xeomin, dermal fillers, lip augmentation, facials, laser hair removal and microneedling with exosomes. Medical weight loss is one of its listed services. It does not list hormone therapy or peptide therapy.
Dr. Ruby Arora, a board-certified Internal Medicine physician with specialized training in aesthetic medicine and medical weight loss, runs the practice. In 2011 she added a medical weight loss program. In its own words: "We combine custom diet and exercise programs with advanced medical treatments, including FDA-approved medications like Wegovy, Ozempic, Mounjaro, Zepboud, Adipex, etc. when appropriate." It is open Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm, by appointment only. Google lists it as a medical spa with a rating of 5 from 76 reviews.
What does it cost?
It does not publish prices for medical weight loss or hormone therapy, and it does not say whether medication is included in any price. No consultation fee is stated. The prices it does publish are for memberships. The anti-wrinkle plans run $150, $200 or $250 a month for 50, 75 or 100 units of Botox, and the facial membership is $165 a month. Both memberships carry a 12-month commitment, and the facial membership has a 24-hour cancellation policy.
The anti-wrinkle plans describe the Botox schedule two ways, every 4 months and 3 times a year, so ask which one applies. For payment, it mentions financing options and does not say whether it accepts insurance.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask who writes and signs a weight loss prescription, and how often you would see the physician in person. Ask whether the monthly fee includes the medication or whether the drug is billed separately, and whether it is brand-name or compounded.
Ask what follow-up visits and lab work cost, whether a consultation fee applies, and whether any visits can be done by telehealth, since the clinic does not say. Ask how a weight loss program is cancelled and whether it carries a commitment like the membership terms. Ask whether HSA or FSA cards can be used. Call 866-4DR-RUBY and get the answers in writing before you book.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want one physician-run practice for cosmetic treatments and medical weight loss, and you are willing to get prices, medication details and cancellation terms in writing before you pay. It is not a fit if you are looking for hormone therapy or peptide therapy, since the clinic does not list either one.
