What is A-Z Health Services?
A-Z Health Services is a family medicine practice at 45 S Pine Street in Elverson, PA 19520, founded in 2018. Its main business is urgent care, primary care and occupational health, with walk-in visits for illness and minor injuries and pre-employment physicals for employers. Medical weight loss is one of several wellness services, alongside massage, IV nutrition therapy, chiropractic care, a 24-hour fitness center and advanced wound care. In its own words: "Family owned and operated, A-Z Health Services is your hometown health center."
Dr. Gary Herring, MD, is the founder and medical director, and he is board certified in family medicine. The weight loss program offers semaglutide and tirzepatide, both GLP-1 medications given by injection, and it includes ongoing medical supervision and progress monitoring. Hormone therapy and peptide therapy are not offered. The practice serves Elverson and patients from Berks, Chester, Lancaster and Montgomery counties. It is open Monday through Friday from 8am to 6pm, Saturday from 10am to 4pm, and closed Sunday. It is rated 4.7 on Google from 315 reviews.
What does it cost?
Semaglutide costs $100 per week or $350 per month. Tirzepatide costs $150 per week or $500 per month. The clinic does not say whether the medication is included in either price, so do not assume it is. The separate A-Z Plus membership is $80 a month for primary care and discounted wellness services without traditional insurance. The clinic does not say whether that membership covers weight loss medication.
The clinic does not publish a consultation fee, lab or monitoring costs, or whether it accepts insurance. It does not describe cancellation terms either. Settle those questions before you pay.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask which physician writes the prescription and how often you would see that physician. Dr. Herring is named as the physician, but the clinic does not say who prescribes the weight loss medication. Ask whether the weekly or monthly price includes the medication itself, and whether the medication is brand-name or compounded. Ask what the consultation, lab work and follow-up visits cost on top of the program price.
Ask whether the clinic takes insurance at all, and whether visits can be done by video. Ask how the weekly and monthly prices differ, since the monthly price is presented as a saving. Finally, ask how you cancel, and get the answer in writing.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want a local practice in Elverson that handles urgent care and primary care as well as a cash-pay weight loss program, and you are willing to confirm the prescriber, the medication cost and the cancellation terms before you book. If you need video visits, ask first, because the clinic does not say whether it offers them.
