About Bucks County Center for Integrative Medicine
What is Bucks County Center for Integrative Medicine?
Bucks County Center for Integrative Medicine, or BCIM, is a clinic at 708 North Shady Retreat Road in Doylestown, PA 18901. It has served Doylestown since 2008 and says it has more than 10 team members. It describes its work as functional, integrative and osteopathic medicine. The people listed as prescribers are Julia Helstrom, DO, Melissa Borrero, MD, Ruchi Kukreja, MD, and Sarah Weir, RN.
Its services include primary care, a metabolic program, hormone replacement therapy, Metamorphosis of Healing (a program for conditions such as MCAS, dysautonomia and long COVID), naturopathic medicine, an 8-week mindfulness course, osteopathic manipulation, physical therapy, acupuncture, massage, Reiki and IV supplementation. It does not list peptide or longevity medicine. It is open Monday through Thursday from 9:00 to 17:00 and Friday from 9:00 to 14:00. Google lists it as a holistic medicine practitioner, with a 4.5 rating from 17 reviews.
What does it cost?
The initial consult is $998. It is a 90-minute appointment and comes before the Integrative Primary Care Membership, which is $200 a month after that. Existing primary care members can add HRT management for $65 a month. The Metabolic Restoration active phase is $500 a month and typically runs 3 to 6 months. The maintenance phase is $175 a month once you are stable and visiting quarterly. Medication is billed separately and is not included in any of these program fees. The 4-month Functional & Integrative Medicine Program costs $2,888 total, with $1,313 due at the first visit and $525 a month for 3 more months.
It does not accept insurance, is not a participating provider with any plan, and does not participate in Medicare. On request, it will provide a superbill for possible out-of-network reimbursement. It does not publish prices for physical therapy, acupuncture or massage, so ask for those directly. It does not publish cancellation or commitment terms for the metabolic program, and it does not mention HSA or financing.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask who writes and manages the prescriptions in the metabolic program, and whether that physician is the one you will see at each visit. Ask whether the medication is brand-name or compounded, and what it costs each month, since it is billed on top of the program fee. Ask whether lab tests are billed separately from the metabolic lab monitoring that the program lists.
Ask how you cancel the metabolic program and whether there is a minimum commitment, since neither is published. If you want hormone therapy, ask whether the $65 add-on requires a primary care membership, because programming for non-members is coming soon. Ask whether any visits can be done by video, which is not published.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you live near Doylestown, can pay cash for a membership or program on top of medication costs, and want primary care, metabolic care and hormone care under one roof. It is not the place to look for peptide or longevity medicine, which it does not list, or for anyone who needs a clinic that bills insurance.
