What is Prime Med Spa?
Prime Med Spa is a medical spa with offices in Portland, Oregon, and Vancouver, Washington. Most of its work is aesthetic. Microneedling, fillers, neuromodulators, chemical peels, body contouring, IV therapy and massage are among its fifteen listed services. Two of its services are medical programs. One is a Weight Loss Program built around the prescription medication Semaglutide. The other is BHRT hormone therapy, which it offers, though it gives no detail beyond the name.
In its own words: “Portland’s first GLP-1 weight-loss program.”
Its team includes Lynne Nguyen, PA-C, Kieu Ho, Registered Nurse, BSN, and Courtney Shipps, Advance License Esthetician. Google shows a 4.9 rating from 272 reviews and categorizes the business as a medical spa. Both offices use the phone number 971-777-0303.
This listing is for its Portland office at 5635 NE Alameda St.
What does it cost?
It does not publish prices for weight loss or hormone therapy, and it does not say whether medication is included in any price. The consultation is complimentary. The only prices it publishes are for memberships. Gold Elite is $149 a month and includes $12 per unit neuromodulators, 10% off products and services including SkinVive, and $25 off filler. Diamond Elite is $199 a month and includes $12 per unit neuromodulators, 15% off products and services including SkinVive, $75 off dermal filler, and one complimentary deluxe facial a month (valued at $175).
Membership funds are banked with a 6 month minimum. There is no cancellation fee and no cash or credit card refunds. Funds can only be used on products and services, cannot be combined with other promotions, and are non-transferable and non-refundable. For payment, it offers Cherry Payment Plans. It does not say whether it accepts insurance.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask who writes the Semaglutide prescription. Lynne Nguyen, PA-C is the only prescriber named, and the program description does not say she prescribes for it. Ask whether a physician reviews the prescription.
Ask whether the program price includes the medication and, if it does not, what the medication costs each month. Ask whether the Semaglutide is brand-name or compounded.
Ask what follow-up visits, check-ins and lab work cost. The program promises ongoing support but names no prices for it. Ask for the cancellation terms of the weight loss program in writing, since the membership terms cover membership funds only.
For hormone therapy, ask what BHRT involves, what it costs, and who prescribes it. Ask which office handles it and what hours it keeps, since no hours are listed. Ask whether any part of either program can be done by telehealth, because it does not say.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want aesthetic treatments and a Semaglutide or hormone program under one roof, you can pay cash or through financing, and you are comfortable with membership funds that cannot be refunded. If medical weight management or hormone care is the main reason you are calling, get the prescriber, price and follow-up answers in writing before you book.
