About Doctor's Weight Loss Clinic
What is Doctor's Weight Loss Clinic?
Doctor's Weight Loss Clinic is a medical weight management practice with offices in Durant and Ardmore, Oklahoma. It says it has helped people from across the state since 1995. Its focus is weight loss, and it does not present itself as a general primary care practice. Michelle Chapman, PA-C, is the clinic's PA, and Dr. William Mitchell, MD, is the supervising physician.
The clinic offers semaglutide and tirzepatide injections, along with phentermine (Adipex), phendimetrazine (Bontril), Didrex, Qsymia and Contrave. It now offers telehealth visits for semaglutide. Its Google listing shows a rating of 5 from 5 reviews.
In its own words: "Not all bodies are the same, so we create a custom weight loss plan especially for you."
This listing is for its Durant office at 2817 University Blvd.
What does it cost?
The one program price it publishes is $550 for its 10 week telehealth semaglutide program. That price includes the weight loss medication and the doctor telehealth visits. The $50 consultation fee is non-refundable, but it is applied to the program total if you enroll. You book and pay the consultation through its online scheduler.
Recent blood work is required. It must be from the past year, include a CBC, CMP and TSH, and reach the clinic within 30 days after the consultation. If you have none on file, the clinic can send a lab requisition for a draw at any DLO Clinic, which costs $60 and is invoiced by the clinic.
It does not publish prices for tirzepatide, the other medications or in-person visits. It does not say whether it accepts insurance.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask who signs the prescription for the medication you choose, and whether that person sees you at each step. Ask whether the $550 covers every visit and refill across the 10 weeks, and what you pay after that. Ask whether the medication is brand-name or compounded, since the clinic does not say. Ask what tirzepatide, Qsymia or Contrave would cost and whether the medication is included.
Ask which conditions would rule you out. The clinic lists several, including a personal history of pancreatitis and current diabetes medication. Ask about the paperwork deadline too, because the consultation is cancelled if the paperwork is not returned 48 hours before it. Finally, ask whether insurance is accepted, what the office hours are, and which states the telehealth visits cover. The clinic's phone number is (580) 504-6392.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want weight loss care supervised by a physician, you live near Durant or Ardmore or can use telehealth for semaglutide, and you are ready to pay cash for a set program. If you need insurance billing or a published price for a specific medication, get those answers before you book.
