What is Sakinah Health?

What does it cost?

The monthly care plan for medical weight loss is $250 a month. A 6-month metabolic care package is $1,950. Hormone health is $250 a month plus a one-time $150 enrollment fee. Membership pricing is $250 a month, or $3,000 for an annual membership, with a one-time $99 enrollment fee per person that is waived on the annual plan. Labs, imaging and medications are not included in program pricing. Members can get discounted labs, imaging and prescriptions, but the practice does not publish those prices. InBody scans are included at the start of care and every 3 months for in-person monthly programs. The practice does not publish a consultation fee beyond a free meet and greet, or a price for Sakinah Strength or the Complete Wellness Evaluation. It may be possible to use HSA or FSA funds, depending on your plan and how your administrator reads the rules. It does not publish cancellation or commitment terms. In its own words: "One flat fee. What should you ask before you book?

Ask who writes your prescriptions and whether Dr. Shermadou signs each one. Ask whether any medication is included in the monthly fee, since the practice says it is not, and what each one would cost you per month. Ask whether the medications are brand-name or compounded, because the practice does not say. Ask which weight loss medications they use, since none are named. Ask about insurance too. The weight loss pricing says you may use insurance when available, while elsewhere the practice says it does not bill insurance, so get a clear answer for your plan. Ask what labs, imaging and follow-up visits cost, and how cancellation, refunds and any commitment work for monthly and annual plans. If you have Medicare, note that the practice does not currently enroll Medicare patients. Finally, ask who manages any condition outside its focus.

Who is it a good fit for?

This is a good fit if you are paying cash for weight loss or hormone care, already have a primary care doctor you plan to keep, and want longer visits and direct messages with the physician. It is not set up for people who need insurance billing or Medicare coverage, or for anyone who wants one practice to handle all of their primary care.
