What is Elysium Aesthetics & Wellness?
Elysium Aesthetics & Wellness is a med spa at 8600 Sancus Blvd in Columbus, Ohio. Most of its services are cosmetic: wrinkle relaxers, fillers, facial balancing, microneedling and chemical peels. It also offers medical weight loss and men's hormone replacement, and it says it serves Columbus, Delaware and surrounding areas.
Amanda Smith, aprn-cnp, is the owner and founder and a board-certified nurse practitioner. Dr. Phyllis Nsiah-Kumi is listed as medical director and holds a Doctor of Medicine. The clinic does not say which of them prescribes weight loss or hormone medication. Google lists it at 5 from 66 reviews, in the medical spa category. Hours are 09:00 am to 05:00 pm Monday through Friday, 10:00 am to 02:00 pm Saturday, and closed Sunday.
This listing is for its Columbus office at 8600 Sancus Blvd suite 133.
What does it cost?
Its membership has four monthly tiers: Elysium Essentials at $50, Elysium Luxe at $100, a $150 tier and Elysium Elite at $200. Each payment goes into a balance you spend on services or retail, dollar for dollar. The minimum commitment is 3 months. After that you cancel with 30 days written notice by email, with no cancellation fee. Banked funds are non-refundable.
Cosmetic prices include Jeuveau at $10.80 per unit at the two lower tiers, fillers from $495 to $675, and peels at $225. New patients get $100 off a tox treatment of 50+ units. The clinic takes cash, cards and mobile payment apps, and accepts HSA or FSA cards without guaranteeing reimbursement. In its own words: "we believe in providing unparalleled care and attention to each of our clients, which is why we operate as a cash-only practice, without accepting insurance." Teaching you to inject at home costs $50 a visit. The clinic does not publish prices for its weight loss or hormone programs or a consultation fee, and it does not say whether medication is included in any price.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask who writes the prescription for weight loss and for hormone medication, and whether you will see that person at each visit. Dr. Nsiah-Kumi's biography also lists a current role at another practice, so ask how much of her time goes to Elysium. Ask whether the program fee includes medication, and whether it is brand-name or compounded. The clinic's FAQ explains compounding pharmacies, so ask which kind would fill your prescription.
Ask what consultations, follow-up visits and lab work cost, and whether telehealth is available. Ask whether the 3-month minimum applies to a weight loss program or only to the membership. Ask how the 24-hour cancellation rule and the $50 deposit work. Refunds are not given for services already rendered, so ask what happens if a program does not suit you.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want cosmetic treatments or a cash-pay membership in Columbus and can commit to at least three months. It is a weaker fit if you need published prices for weight loss or hormone care, medication included in the price, and a named prescriber for those services before you pay anything.
