About DexaFit Cincinnati
What is DexaFit Cincinnati?
DexaFit Cincinnati is a physician-led testing clinic at 8784 Montgomery Rd #102 in Kenwood, Cincinnati, OH 45236. It sees patients by appointment only, and the phone number is (513) 201-7889. Most of the work is body composition, fitness and metabolism testing: DEXA body scans, DEXA bone density scans, resting metabolic rate tests, VO2 max fitness tests and precision lab testing. Those tests feed two longer programs, Longevity⁺ Health Optimization and the Weight Management⁺ Program. Weight management is one service among several, so this is not mainly a weight loss clinic.
Dr. David DeMarco, MD is the medical director and the only prescriber named. He is described as board-certified. The weight program names GLP-1 medications and says hormone therapy, including TRT/HRT, may be prescribed when clinically appropriate. Weight Management⁺ includes quarterly 60-minute physician visits, eight 15-minute telehealth check-ins in months without a physician visit, two follow-up DEXA scans, a Stelo CGM with four sensors and a Lumen metabolic analyzer.
What does it cost?
Weight Management⁺ is listed at $199 a month. Medication costs are not included in that fee. DexaFit Cincinnati does not publish a consultation fee, and it does not publish prices for Longevity⁺ Health Optimization or the individual tests. Extra physician time is billed at $100 per 15-minute increment. In its own words: "Weight Management⁺ is a direct-pay program and operates outside of traditional insurance." Labs may be submitted to insurance or paid at discounted cash prices, and HSA or FSA funds may cover some services, depending on your plan.
The membership renews annually unless you change or cancel it, and it carries a minimum six-month commitment. Medicare patients are welcome, but they must sign a Medicare private contract opt-out acknowledgment at enrollment.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask whether the medication is brand-name or compounded, and who writes and signs each prescription. Ask what a month of medication would add to the $199. Ask what the Vitality Blueprint lab panels will cost you after insurance. Ask what happens if a claim is denied, since the office does not contact insurers or appeal denied claims on your behalf. Ask for the consultation fee and what the first visit includes. Ask how cancellation works once the six-month minimum ends. Ask for office hours, since none are published beyond "by appointment only," and ask whether telehealth visits are offered and in which states.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you are 18 or older, already have a primary care doctor, want physician-guided testing and a monthly program, and can pay cash for it and budget for medication on top of the fee. Weight Management⁺ is not a primary care program. If you need a primary care relationship, look at the concierge Direct Primary Care membership instead.
