What is Vanderbilt Wellness?
Vanderbilt Wellness is a cash-pay primary care practice at 1304 Ashley Square in Winston-Salem, NC 27103. It calls itself a Direct Primary Clinic, which means it does not accept insurance and runs on a monthly membership. Its services are Primary Care, Men's Health, Weight Loss and Wellness, and IV Therapy, and its pages also describe hormone therapy. For weight loss it names semaglutide and tirzepatide. Hours are posted as 07:00 to 18:00 on weekdays. Google shows a rating of 5 from 4 reviews.
The clinic does not name who prescribes. It does describe a team of medical professionals and a Certified Personal Trainer who offers one-on-one sessions. In its own words: "we will answer or call you back same day."
What does it cost?
Membership fees are the only prices shown. An individual membership is $75 a month, plus a one-time $50 activation fee for the first month. A couple pays $75 a month for the primary member, with the same activation fee, and $60 a month for the second. Dues are auto-billed to a card on file. A $10 late fee applies, and two missed payments in a row cancel the membership. Coming back means paying the activation fee again. Membership carries a minimum initial term of three months. Members get discounted prices on services and in-clinic medications. Non-members pay no monthly fee but pay full price for everything.
The clinic does not bill insurance, though it will keep your insurance on file so outside labs and pharmacies can bill it.
It does not publish prices for weight loss or hormone prescriptions, or a consultation fee. It does not say whether medication is included in a weight loss price. Ask before you book.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask who signs the prescription, since no prescriber is named. Ask whether the monthly fee covers the medication or whether the drug is billed on top. Ask whether the semaglutide or tirzepatide is brand-name or compounded. The clinic's GLP-1 disclosure names Wegovy and Ozempic as brand names for semaglutide, but it does not say which version it dispenses. Ask what follow-up visits and periodic blood work cost, and whether any visit can be done by phone or video. Ask whether the trainer sessions cost extra, and how cancellation works if you leave before the three months are up.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want an in-person primary care office in Winston-Salem that runs weight loss and hormone programs on a monthly membership, and you are ready to pay for medication yourself. It is less suited to you if you need insurance billing, or if you are looking for peptide therapy or longevity medicine, which the clinic does not list.
