About The Beauty Bar | Newton

What is The Beauty Bar | Newton?

The Beauty Bar | Newton is a day spa at 13 East A St, Newton, NC 28658. It is open by appointment only, Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm and Saturday 9am to 1pm, and bookings are made by phone at 828-312-7916. Jessica, the owner, has run it since 2019. Most of what it offers is spa and beauty work: facials, body wraps, a Japanese head spa, sauna sessions, gel manicures and pedicures, lash services, teeth whitening and permanent makeup.

The medical side is a smaller part of the business, and harder to pin down. Botox is among its treatments, and IV hydration appears in its service descriptions. Its one named prescriber is Melissa, whose staff bio describes her as a nurse practitioner and says she offers medical-guided weight loss and peptides. Neither weight loss nor peptides appears on the services list. Google lists it as a weight loss service and shows a 5-star rating from 56 reviews.

What does it cost?

It publishes prices for most spa services. Facials run $35 to $65, a 60-minute body wrap is $65, and the 90-minute Japanese head spa is $150. Permanent makeup runs from $350 to $475, lash lifts are $75, and Botox starts at $12 per unit. It does not publish prices for weight loss, peptides or IV hydration, and for scar and stretch mark camouflage it asks you to call.

In its own words: "Payments for services are due at the time of appointment and can be made via cash, credit card, or other accepted methods."

A $50 deposit may be required for certain services, such as permanent makeup, and it is non-refundable if you cancel within 24 hours. A $25 fee applies to no-shows. It does not say whether medication is included in any price, and it does not say whether it accepts insurance.

What should you ask before you book?

Ask who the physician is. Its terms say Botox and IV hydration follow a physical assessment by a licensed physician, but no physician appears on its staff list. Ask whether that physician is involved in Melissa's visits.

Ask whether weight loss and peptide care is offered at every visit, which medications are used, and whether they are brand-name or compounded. Ask what the price covers, including medication, and what follow-up visits and lab work cost. Ask whether any part of care is done by video, since it does not say.

Ask how to cancel an ongoing program. It states that no refunds are given for completed services, so get that answer clearly before you pay.

Who is it a good fit for?

This is a good fit if you want a day spa visit or a cosmetic treatment such as Botox, booked by phone and paid at the appointment. If you are considering weight loss or peptide care, call first and get the prices, the medications and the physician's name confirmed before you pay for anything.
