About Lexel Aesthetics & Wellness
What is Lexel Aesthetics & Wellness?
Lexel Aesthetics & Wellness is a nurse-practitioner-led aesthetics and wellness clinic at 1307 West Cumberland Street in Dunn, NC. Most of what it lists is cosmetic: anti-wrinkle injections, dermal fillers, microneedling, Morpheus8 and laser hair removal. Medical weight loss and hormone replacement therapy sit alongside those, with IV hydration and injections such as B12, glutathione and NAD+.
Dr. Mary Margaret Hether and Krista Whittington are the two people it names as prescribers. Hether has over 15 years providing healthcare. The weight loss program names semaglutide and tirzepatide, among other GLP-1 medications, under brands such as Wegovy, Ozempic and Mounjaro. Visits are by appointment only, and it serves residents of North Carolina, Florida, Virginia and New Hampshire, with virtual or in-person consultations. It has a Google rating of 5 from 190 reviews.
What does it cost?
The initial consultation is $100, and that fee counts toward a program. If lab results rule out treatment, $50 of it is refunded. Labs done in the office are listed at $200. Other listed prices include IV hydration at $175, microneedling at $325, Morpheus8 at $1,000 and a B12 injection at $25.
The Silver, Gold and Platinum plans have no published prices. It does not say whether the Silver price includes medication, and Silver adds a $40 fee when prior authorization is needed. Gold's pricing includes medication, supplies and nutrition coaching. Its plans section currently shows no plans available for purchase.
On insurance, it says: In its own words: "Insurance is not used or accepted for labs at LA&W but if you would like to submit the bill for reimbursement that can be done." It does not say whether insurance covers weight loss visits or medication. Cancellations and reschedules must be requested 48 hours before the appointment time.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask who signs your prescription. The clinic names two prescribers and does not say which one handles a given patient. Ask whether a virtual visit can lead to a prescription for someone in your state.
Ask for the monthly total on each plan, since none is published, and whether that total includes medication. Ask whether the medication is brand-name or compounded, because it does not say. Ask what follow-up visits and labs cost after the first month. It can give you a lab order to take to a lab of your choice.
It directs Medicare patients to primary care for weight loss management, so ask whether that applies to you. It also lists more than one phone number, so confirm which line handles weight loss before you call.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want cosmetic treatments and medical weight loss or hormone care from one nurse-practitioner-led practice, you live in one of the four states it serves, and you are comfortable getting the monthly price in writing before you commit.
