What is The Modern Aesthetic?
The Modern Aesthetic is a med spa and wellness center in Charlotte, North Carolina. Most of its work is cosmetic: Botox and Dysport, fillers, Sculptra, lasers and massage. Weight loss is one of its services, a program the clinic describes as medically supervised, using tirzepatide or semaglutide.
Its pages name offices in Uptown, Ballantyne and NODA, all in Charlotte. The main phone number is 704-291-1568. Kendra Lopez, PA-C, is the only prescriber named for the weight loss program. The clinic's team listing also calls her the founder and CEO. The nurse injectors and other staff are not named as prescribers.
What does it cost?
The weight loss program is priced as a program total, and the medication is included. The three tiers are $750, $1350 and $1750, covering the first 1 to 6 weeks, 1 to 9.5 weeks, and 1 to 12 weeks. Each tier includes overnight shipping and supplies, two virtual follow-up visits, a nutrition guide, and unlimited support by text or call.
A $100 deposit holds your appointment and counts toward the program total. Lab work is a separate cost. In its own words: "Labs may or may not be drawn based on patient history at an additional cost." No lab price is given. The clinic does not state a consultation fee, whether it accepts insurance, or how cancellation works.
Memberships at $149 and $249 per month include monthly treatments and member discounts, among them $100 and $200 off tirzepatide packages. A limited-time $150 off weight loss packages is also advertised, with no end date given.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask which product fills the vial. The weight loss material names tirzepatide and semaglutide, but the promotion lists a "wellness peptide" at the same three prices. Ask what that product is and whether the medication is brand name or compounded.
Ask what happens when your covered weeks end and what continuing costs. Ask what labs cost and whether you will need them. Ask what follow-up visits cost after the two included. Ask whether the $100 deposit is refundable and how cancellation works.
Ask whether any visit is in person. The program says appointments are virtual or in person at NODA, but its FAQ says all appointments are virtual. Ask whether the member discounts require a membership.
Ask Kendra Lopez, PA-C, to go through the conditions the program lists as reasons not to start, including pregnancy and a personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want a cash pay program with the medication in the price, a named PA-C as prescriber, and you are willing to get the deposit, cancellation and lab terms in writing before you pay. If you need insurance to cover any part of it, ask before you book, since the clinic does not say whether it accepts insurance.
