What is New Image MD Medical Aesthetics?
New Image MD Medical Aesthetics is a physician-owned practice at 101 Glen Lennox Dr. Unit 170, Chapel Hill, NC 27517. The phone number is (919) 240-7019. Its main work is aesthetic: BOTOX, Juvederm & Restylane, Sculptra, Facial Balancing, CoolSculpting, laser hair removal, HydraFacial, IV Hydration, Age Management and Hair Restoration. Google lists it as a medical spa, with a rating of 5 from 366 reviews.
Of the services a patient might be shopping for, its weight loss program is the medical one. In its own words: "In addition to aesthetic services, New Image MD offers GLP-1 weight management with medical supervision." The medications it names are compounded semaglutide, semaglutide and tirzepatide. It orders its semaglutide from Olympia Compounding Pharmacy, which it describes as an FDA Outsourcing Facility. The one prescriber named is Jennifer Lynn King MD, a Board Certified Internal Medicine Physician and a Fellow of the American Board of Physicians, who brings over 20 years of experience. It does not list hormone therapy. It serves Chapel Hill, Durham, Raleigh and the surrounding areas.
What does it cost?
No price for the GLP-1 program is published, and nothing says whether medication is included in any price. Consultations are free. In its own words: "We never charge for consultations." The weight loss program starts with a consultation with Dr. King, and a first treatment can happen at that visit for those who qualify. Weekly check-ins with Dr. King or a nurse, and a maintenance phase after reaching a goal weight, are part of the program. No fees are given for either.
For other care, eligible patients may get 6 or 12 months of no-interest financing through CareCredit, with some plans subject to credit approval. It also offers short-term payment plans. It does not say whether it accepts insurance. A monthly memberships option appears on its menu, but no terms or cancellation rules are given.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask whether the program fee includes the medication or bills it separately, and what each costs. Ask whether the tirzepatide is compounded or brand-name, since the semaglutide is compounded. Ask who signs your prescription, and whether Dr. King reviews each one or a nurse handles some visits.
Ask what lab work costs if you have none from the past year, because the program asks for recent labs. Ask what each check-in costs and whether any of them can be done by phone or video. Ask how memberships and payment plans cancel, and whether you still owe the balance of a plan if you stop. Finally, ask whether any insurance covers part of the care, since none is mentioned.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want an aesthetics practice that also offers a physician-supervised GLP-1 program, and you are ready to pay out of pocket or finance it. If you need a published medication price or insurance coverage before you commit, get those answers first.
