About Carolina Integrative Wellness

What is Carolina Integrative Wellness?

Carolina Integrative Wellness is an integrative and functional medicine clinic at 1135 Kildaire Farm Rd., Suite 108, in Cary, North Carolina, inside the PNC Bank building. It serves patients from Raleigh, Apex, Morrisville, and the wider Triangle. The prescriber named for the practice is Kimberly Handy, FNP-C. She has practiced integrative medicine since 2016 and set up her own practice after moving to North Carolina in 2022. Jessica Allyn, AGNP-C, is also on the team, but the clinic does not say she prescribes weight loss or hormone treatment.

Weight management and hormone balancing are two of the clinic's services, not the whole practice. The rest include adult and pediatric primary care for patients from 1 year old, advanced functional lab testing, IV vitamin therapy, high dose vitamin C, Hemealumen therapy, vitamin injections, ozone therapy, and NAD+. The weight program uses semaglutide, tirzepatide, and LDN, and the clinic lists peptide therapy as part of that approach. It is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Google shows a 4.9 rating from 28 reviews.

What does it cost?

The weight loss consultation is $200 per visit, and medication is not included. Consultations are typically self-pay. Labs are not included either. In its own words: "Labs are not included. We are able to bill insurance for labs or we can provide low cost cash based lab services." The clinic does not publish prices for hormone visits (which run 90 minutes), the medications themselves, peptide therapy, the IV and injection services, or NAD+. It also does not say whether there is a membership or how cancellation works. Ask for those numbers before you book.

What should you ask before you book?

Start with who writes the prescription. Kimberly Handy, FNP-C, is the only prescriber named, so ask whether she will prescribe for your weight loss or hormone care, and what role Jessica Allyn plays. Ask whether the $200 consultation includes any medication. If it does not, ask what a month of semaglutide or tirzepatide would cost you, and whether the medication is brand-name or compounded. Ask what follow-up visits and lab work cost, and how often you will need them. Ask whether a hormone visit is priced differently from the $200 weight visit. Ask whether any visit can be done by telehealth, since the clinic does not say. If you join an ongoing program, ask how billing and cancellation work. Ask which office you would attend, because some of the clinic's online descriptions also name Southern Pines.

Who is it a good fit for?

This is a good fit if you live in or near Cary, want a cash-pay visit with a nurse practitioner for medical weight management or hormone care, and are ready to pay for medication separately. If you need the full monthly cost in writing before you commit, or you are counting on insurance to cover the visit, call (919) 694-7192 first and get answers to the questions above.
