About medAge Customized Medicine & Aesthetics
What is medAge Customized Medicine & Aesthetics?
medAge is a medical spa at 30 Town Square Blvd, Suite 218, in Biltmore Park, Asheville, NC 28803. Most of what it does is aesthetic work: neuromodulators such as Dysport and Xeomin, dermal fillers, Morpheus8, Ultherapy, CO2 laser resurfacing and body contouring devices. Medical weight loss, hormone optimization, peptide therapy, longevity and wellness care, IV therapy and InBody body composition scans sit alongside those. You can call 828-684-1212.
Dr. Laura Ellis, MD, founded the practice and is its medical director. Dr. Sarah Long, DNP, FNP-BC, is the clinical lead and runs the weight loss, hormone and wellness programs. Both are listed as prescribers.
The weight loss program is called Foundation by Dr. Live Long. It uses tirzepatide (Zepbound) and semaglutide (Wegovy), and includes lab work, InBody scans and monthly check-ins with Dr. Long. In its own words: "A real program, not just a prescription." Hormone care includes male hormone assessment and testosterone replacement therapy, with monitoring of hematocrit and PSA. The clinic is open Monday through Friday, by appointment only. It shows a 4.9 out of 5 rating from 145 Google reviews.
What does it cost?
It does not publish prices for weight loss, hormone or peptide care. It does not say whether medication is included in any program price. Program pricing is discussed at the consultation.
New patient consultations require a $75 deposit, applied in full toward the first visit. That is a deposit, not a stated consultation fee. Financing is available through PatientFi with 0% APR options. It does not say whether it accepts insurance, and it does not publish membership terms or a cancellation policy.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask which prescriber signs for each service, since two prescribers are listed. Ask whether the monthly program fee includes the medication, or whether the pharmacy bills separately. Ask whether the tirzepatide or semaglutide is the brand-name product or a compounded version. Ask which peptides are used and how a peptide protocol is set. Ask what the lab work and follow-up visits cost, including testosterone monitoring labs. Ask whether insurance is billed, and whether HSA or FSA funds can be used. Ask how a program is cancelled and whether the $75 deposit is refundable if you decide not to go ahead.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want aesthetic treatments and some medical services under one roof, and you are comfortable getting the full cost in writing before you book. If your main goal is a supervised weight loss or hormone program with a published price, expect to do more asking before you commit.
