What is CNY Wellness?

CNY Wellness is a medical practice at 2700 Genesee St in Utica, NY 13502. You can call 315.941.2688. In its own words: "CNY Wellness is a one-stop shop with a dedicated medical staff." Weight loss is its lead service, and most of the rest of the menu is cosmetic: teeth whitening, microdermabrasion, Botox, fillers and facial light treatments. It also offers vitamin B12 injections, lipotropic injections and EKGs. The weight loss care centers on semaglutide, tirzepatide and retatrutide injections, along with weight loss programs.

Two people prescribe here: Sheila McGuire, NP, and Amelia Palmer, who describes herself as a nurse. No physician is named. Sheila McGuire's bio says she has worked in weight loss and aesthetics for the past 10 years, and before that she worked as an NP in pediatrics.

What does it cost?

Before you book, ask for the full monthly cost of the injections with the medication included, and the price of each visit and lab test after that.

What should you ask before you book?

Start with the prescriber. No physician is named, so ask who writes the semaglutide, tirzepatide or retatrutide prescription and whether a physician reviews it. Next, ask whether the monthly fee includes the medication, whether it is brand-name or compounded, and which pharmacy fills it.

Then ask what follow-up visits, lab work and dose changes cost, and how cancellation works, including any minimum term. For the B12 and lipotropic injections, ask what the lipotropic mix contains and what each shot costs on its own. If you live outside Utica, ask whether any part of your care can be done by telehealth, since the practice does not say. The Tuesday and Thursday hours are both marked T, so confirm the Thursday schedule before you plan a visit.

Who is it a good fit for?

This is a good fit if you want weight loss injections in a practice that also offers cosmetic treatments, and you are comfortable with a nurse practitioner as one of the prescribers.
