What is Refresh Medical?
Refresh Medical is a physician-led medical spa at 1545 East Avenue, Ste 2, in Rochester, NY 14610. Most of what it offers is cosmetic: neurotoxin and filler injections, Sculptra, several laser treatments, laser hair removal and physician-grade chemical peels. Its other named services are menopause and perimenopause care and GLP-1 weight loss therapy.
The clinic names two prescribers, Dr. Rich Coia and Dr. Steph Corey. Its team description says both are board-certified Emergency Medicine physicians, but it does not publish a separate credential for either one. Its weight loss care is described as in person. What does it cost?
Several services have published prices. Neurotoxin injections are $14 per unit, and the clinic names Dysport and Botox. Dermal fillers are $699 per syringe, using the hyaluronic acid fillers Restylane and Juvéderm. IPL face and neck is $249 for a single treatment or $899 for a series of four. The series includes a complimentary Alastin A-Luminate, which the clinic lists at a $178 value.
The GLP-1 weight loss program has no published price. Pricing depends on the medication and dose and is given at the consultation. It does not state a consultation fee, whether the medication is included in any price, whether it accepts insurance, or whether it accepts HSA or financing. Its menu lists a membership and a rewards program, but it does not explain their terms or how to cancel.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask who will sign the prescription for semaglutide or tirzepatide, and who you will see at follow-up visits. Ask whether the monthly price includes the medication or whether the drug is billed separately. Ask whether the medication is brand-name or compounded, because that changes what you are paying for.
Ask what the consultation costs and whether it counts toward treatment. Ask what lab work and follow-up visits cost, since labs may be recommended. Ask whether the clinic takes insurance at all, and whether weight loss visits can be done by video or must happen in person. Finally, ask how cancellation works and whether there is a contract.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want in-person care from a physician who prescribes and adjusts a GLP-1 plan, and you are ready to pay cash without a published weight loss price. If you mainly want skin treatments, the cosmetic menu is the larger part of the practice, and it is the part with posted prices.
