About New York TRT

What is New York TRT?

New York TRT is a hormone therapy and medical weight loss practice at 1400 Portland Ave in Rochester, NY 14621, with a phone line at 585-755-3901. It offers testosterone replacement therapy, female hormone replacement therapy, medical weight loss and peptide therapy, along with lifestyle coaching and nutrition planning. It says its roots are in men's hormone therapy and that it brings decades of experience in hormone management, metabolic health and wellness. Google lists it as a medical spa and shows it at 5 from 28 reviews.

In its own words: "Led by a board-certified nurse practitioner." The clinic does not name that nurse practitioner or any other prescriber. Its weight loss program uses prescription medications with lab monitoring, and it does not describe a longevity medicine service.

This listing is for its Rochester office at 1400 Portland Ave.

What does it cost?

Weight loss starts with a $225 initial consultation, which includes a choice of an in-person or virtual nutrition consultation, an InBody 570 body composition analysis and supplement recommendations. The $125 a month membership covers telemedicine support as needed, vitamin B-12 if clinically indicated and the InBody 570 analysis. Extra nutrition consultations are $75 per 30 minutes. Medication is billed separately, and no medication prices are published.

Testosterone and female hormone therapy each start with a $150 consultation and a $125 monthly membership. Prescriptions are billed separately. The female program's membership includes follow-up telemedicine visits to adjust dose or change the form of hormones. The HCG program costs $0 to start for testosterone patients and $150 for HCG only, with medication at $175 per 12,000 IU refill, based on an average 90-day supply. It does not publish peptide therapy prices.

It does not say whether it accepts insurance for visits, though it says insurance usually covers blood work. It does not say how long memberships run or how to cancel.

What should you ask before you book?

Ask who signs your prescription and what credentials that person holds, since no prescriber is named. Ask whether any weight loss medication is brand-name or compounded, and what a month of it will cost on top of the membership. For peptides, ask whether BPC-157 and TB-500, the two it names, are compounded, what they cost and who prescribes them. Ask what lab work and follow-up visits cost beyond the membership.

Ask whether visits can be billed to insurance, how and when a membership can be cancelled, and what the office hours are, since none are listed. Some of its older blog posts name a different practice, Family Health Nurse Practitioner of Rochester, at a Webster address. Ask which practice you will be booked with and where you will be seen before you pay.

Who is it a good fit for?

This is a good fit if you want hormone therapy or medical weight loss on a monthly membership and you are ready to pay for medication on top of it. If peptide therapy is the reason you are calling, get its prices and prescriber in writing before you schedule.
