What is Pine Point Medical?
Pine Point Medical is a primary care practice in the Finger Lakes region of New York, with an office near Ithaca. The clinic names Lansing, Ithaca, Auburn and Cortland as towns it serves. It names Dr. Doug MacQueen as its prescriber, and no credentials beyond that title are listed for him.
Primary care is the main service, alongside infection medicine, weight loss treatments, anti-wrinkle and aesthetic care, athletic training, DEXA scans, IV nutrition and travel prep. Weight loss is one of several services, not the whole practice.
The weight loss program uses semaglutide (Ozempic®, Wegovy®, Rybelsus®) and tirzepatide (Mounjaro®, Zepbound®). It notes that these are often paired with Vitamin B12. It also offers virtual visits alongside in-person care, but it does not name the states where virtual visits are available. Its Google rating is 4.9 from 141 reviews.
What does it cost?
The clinic publishes prices for its GLP-1 medications, quoted per 2 mL vial. Semaglutide runs from $200 for the 0.25mg vial to $400 for the 2.5mg vial. Tirzepatide runs from $255 for the 2.5mg vial to $425 for the 15mg vial. In its own words: "Prices reflect a 2 mL vial, typically about a one-month supply depending on your prescribed dose." It does not say whether that vial price is the full cost of the medication, or what the consultation and follow-ups add.
Payment is split in its steps. The clinic bills insurance for a consultation, then the patient pays by cash, card or check for the prescribed medication, which a pharmacy mails to the patient. It says it accepts most insurance plans and requests co-pays at the time of service. Uninsured patients get a 50% discount when they pay at the time of service, but the clinic does not say whether that discount covers the medication. No consultation fee is published. No financing, membership or cancellation terms are stated.
What should you ask before you book?
Ask whether the vial price is the whole cost of the medication, and what the consultation, follow-ups and lab work add. Ask whether the medication is brand-name or compounded, since the clinic names brand products without saying which one it dispenses. Ask who writes the prescription and how many follow-ups are included. Ask whether the 50% uninsured discount covers the medication. Ask how cancellation works, and ask for the street address, phone number and office hours, which are not published. Ask whether microdosing changes the price.
Who is it a good fit for?
This is a good fit if you want primary care and weight loss treatment under one practice, you are in the Finger Lakes area or open to virtual visits, and you want the full price in writing before you commit. It notes that patients with a BMI of 30 or higher, or 27 or higher with weight-related health conditions, may qualify. It is a weaker fit if you need a published address, hours and price list before you call.
